3. Mise En Scene Costume – Cardboard cut-outs Lighting- Quite dark lighting, only light from the street lights and the fire. More dark and mysterious, making it more abstract. Actors- Cardboard cut-outs. Props- Broom was quite significant, shows that it is empty and disserted. The ‘Tarmac’ cigarette box is also significant because they become the characters.
4. Camera Establishing shot at the beginning we can identify that this is set somewhere outside a shop/apartment building. Movement- Pans from right to left and then left to right. This creates more of an abstract effect- get to see the majority of the characters. Zoom in and out effect. This helped to create a more dramatic effect, making it appear more abstract. Use of a Tracking Shot. Follows the main character and see what he does and then moves onto other characters. Angle High and Low Angles- shows them as small and vulnerable and then the low angle shows them as powerful and dominant. Use of Canted Frame. This made the camera angle seem tilted and skewed- creating that more obscure and abstract effect. Camera Shots Most shots were medium shots, from waist above. This is to highlight the characters.
5. Editing Must have taken a long time to create this video, the producer had to film each movement of the cardboard cut-outs. Eye-line match at the beginning from where the main character looks at the other boxes and the camera follows it. In Chronological order- from beginning to end. Straight-cuts from one scene to the next. Graphic Match, the scene is dissolved and then it is met by another scene- helps the audience to see the different things happening. Pace- Pace was quite fast once the song started- parallel with the music creating more of an effect with its target audience.
6. Sound Music is parallel with scene- the vibrations in the music also match the vibrations that happen in the scene. Off screen sounds, such as; dog barking and police sirens- helps make it more realistic although it is not- making it feel more obscure and bizarre that this is happening. Diegetic sounds, such as; breaking of the glass, the man sweeping and the mans footsteps at the ends. This helps bring it all back to reality. Other… Artificial light, such as lamps and fairy lights- create the lighting. Audience- Fans of The Prodigy. Type of Video- Concept Video.
