Persuasive Essay On Mobile Technology
Mobile technology has become an integral part of our lives. The concept of a mobile phone came about in 1973 when Martin Cooper, a Motorola
researcher, made the first call from a wireless phone (Seward). This phone was large and clunky; it was not like the mobile phones we know today.
Mobile technology was revolutionized in 2007 when the first iPhone was introduced (Ritchie). The iPhone popularized the concept of the smartphone.
With a touch screen and millions of apps, the iPhone and other smartphones have opened up endless possibilities for users. For example, social media
has enabled people to share photos and messages in ways never imaginable before, and productivity and education apps have helped people to work
and learn in immersive...show more content...
Obviously, parents have all sorts of different philosophies on cell phones, and some of these philosophies conflict with schools' policies. Many parents
want their children to learn how to use technology responsibly; allowing use of personal technology during the school day does just that (Evanhoff).
This way, students learn how to resist the urge to use phones for games or social media during the day.
Parents also want the ability to quickly communicate with their kids; this provides parents with a sense of security and safety. They want to stay in
touch with their kids in the event of an emergency, and they want to easily be able to communicate about carpools and other scheduling issues
(Johnson). Technology should be viewed as an extension of the classroom rather than a hindrance to learning. Lecturing and other traditional methods
of teaching are gradually fading away and are being replaced by more interactive ways of learning. For example, teachers can set up an "open
channel" for students to provide comments on a class discussion through their phones (Evanhoff). Additionally, teachers can use apps to provide quick
quizzes or polls to students. An added benefit of quiz apps is that teachers can immediately see results. At Rockhurst, some classes use a website called
Kahoot! to review material; students can either use their iPads, smartphones, or laptops to play. Students also use apps like iMovie on their
smartphones to create films for projects.

Back in 1973, Mr. Martin Cooper an American telecommunication engineer working for Motorola had a vision. He dreamed a world where people
would be able to walk around with their own phones, connecting to their loved ones, coworkers or pretty much take care everything that they needed
to. The first mobile phone was over two pounds, took ten hours to charge and could be used only for a little bit over thirty minutes for a price tag of
$3995. Back in the late 70s, it was hard to imagine that one–day cellular phones will be part of our everyday life, accompany us regardless our age,
social status or where we live. Mr. Cooper's vision has become reality and today's phones are not only functioning as communication devices, they
also serve as our personal assistant. Today's cellphones can execute tasks that a decade ago not even a computer was able to do. Sending E–mails,
playing videos, connecting to the internet or using our phone as a multi applicational work station is part of our everyday life, it does not surprise
anyone anymore. But functions that; prevent drunk driving, pick up thermal images, measure our health rate or tell you when you pull your fishing rod
out of the water to catch a fish, are getting more common as our smartphones expend in storage space, functionality and user–friendliness. We are more
and more depend on our smartphones to be able to function in our everyday life. We also tend to keep a big part of our personal informations on these
devices. It could

In an era where cell phones are the norm, when we go to the store and see a young child bumping and running into things because their focus is on
their cell phones. In this passage i will be talking and explaining why I believe from what these two passages are stating, in the side of Linda
Sidner. We should wait for our children to get older so we can give them the privilege of a phone. Here are my three reasons why we should wait for
our kids to give them phones. Firstly, the growth of cyber bullying and safety of the internet. Secondly, the children should earn the right to have a cell
phone because a cell phone is a privilege . Lastly, they should be old enough to contribute to the cell phone bill.

When my parents needed to get a hold of me they would call the home or place i would be to make sure i got to my destination safely. When i got
to the correct age my parents seen it fit for me to get a phone because i showed them that i was being responsible. Where would our children's focus
be if we give them a phone in such a young age?
Lastly, I believe a child should understand the concept of paying a cell phone bill. At the age of 16, children can find a part time job to contribute to the
bill to get the understanding that. The expense that comes from our cell phones. That would give our children a sense of responsibility and the
understanding of hard work. Instead of just handing them the cell phone and them not understanding the expense that comes from that phone. What
kind of mindset will we give our children if we just hand them things and there is no commitment behind it?
In closing, We as parents should wait so we can teach them and guide them down the right mental path so they can avoid the scares of social media
and personal experience. Lastly to show our children hard work in paying and contributing in the cell phone bill.Go back to a far memory of when

Taking away your teen's phone can be a reflexive response to misbehavior. After all, what do they value more than their phones? And if that's your
go–to punishment, you're not alone. Researchers find that 65 percent of parents take away cell phones or Internet privileges as punishment. HOOK:
Today's teens rely on their smartphones for their social life, their homework, and–let's face it–their ability to communicate with us, is it a valid
punishment? BRIDGE: Sit down together to discuss proper use of the phone, inviting your teen's perspective as well, and create a list of phone
behaviors with rewards for good behaviors and punishments for bad ones. For example, you might tell teens that if they fail to come to dinner
because they are Snapchatting, they will lose the phone for an hour after dinner. THESIS: In today's world, the phone often provides a primary source
of access to both social support and necessary data for school and extracurricular activities," Dodgen–Magee says. "To simply yank it away would be
like taking away the support of a bridge with nothing in its place." II. LOGOS : Taking your kids phone away might be a bad choice because , if
they go out somewhere and are caught in something tragic , they don't have nothing to get in contact with an emergency helpline . REASON : parents
take away the phone for an unrelated infraction, like missing curfew. EVIDENCE : Half of teens now feel "addicted" to their mobile devices – and 60

What do you think of specifically when someone asks what everyone has these days? I don't know about you, but I think of a phone. Most
everyone, no matter what age, has a phone in today's world. I think I should get a phone because it will be easier to contact people as well as making
it easier to use the internet for educational purposes, easier to stay updated on certain situations going on in my life and it will teach and make me
become more responsible.
To begin with, I think I should get a phone because will make it a lot easier to contact people I know, such as family or friends that live far away or

At night you take a shower, brush your teeth, put your pajamas on then lay in bed for hours on your phone, IPod, IPad, laptop, etc. Ever since
technology made a break through face to face communication has decreased and personal time with our phones has increased. Before bed you say
to yourself that you will reply to one email and that leads to scrolling through Facebook. Not getting enough sleep at night or quality sleep can affect
how productive you are throughout your day. The National Sleep Foundation took a poll of Americans ages 13 to 94 to see who used their phones
before going to bed, 95 percent of the 1,508 said they do. Russell Rosenberg who is the vice chairman of the National Sleep Foundation says
"Unfortunately, cell phones and computers, which make our lives more productive and enjoyable, may also be abused to the point that they contribute
to getting less sleep at night leaving millions of Americans functioning poorly the next day." Americans should eliminate the usage of technology
before going to bed because it can lead to sleep deprivation, poor work habits during the day, health issues, such as insomnia, weight gain, and
reoccurring headaches. The technology that we look at before bed gives off blue and white light, this light is messing with our bodies internal clock
and make us more alert at night. Researchers say that espresso coffee does not affect your sleep as much as your cell phones light. The light prevents

Cell phones will simply make it easier for students to cheat and be dishonest. Cell phones can distract and interrupt students and their class. In modern
society, everyone pays attention to their cell phones and nothing else. Students are no exception to this, they will spring for their cell phones after every
ring, vibrate, or notification. It would be very difficult for students to pay attention and learn. With text and social media, students would rather be
occupied with their cell phones, then learning. Cell phones are major interruptions in class and to the students. For example, a student may have their
phone set to silent mode, which is most likely, and it rings in the middle of class. In this situation, the cell phone will not only interrupt the student, but
the student's entire class. A cell phone cannot just be a distraction and interruption to the student, but also can be an interruption and distraction to the
classmates. If students are allowed to use their cell phones in class, they will use them to look at non educational, which another distraction. Another
problem that comes with allowing cell phones to be used in school is cyber bullying. Cyber bullying occurs online, usually it happens on social media,

In today's world, distractions remain prevalent in simple everyday occurrences. Amongst these distractions is the use of cell phones whether simply
walking down the hallway absorbed in a conversation or behind the wheel driving down the highway. Cell phones, no matter the context, are a
major distraction. They have managed to pull us away from spending time with our families and appearing in places they are not prevalent such as
family dinners and behind the wheel of a car. These little handheld devices are useful tools that today's generation is lucky to have, but they can cause
grave danger. They can even decide whether you live another minute. In all cases, it is not this extreme, see however, it is. According to U.S. cell

distracted driver. Since that survey numbers have only kept increasing. This statistic alone makes the situation a little clearer and establishes a concrete
reason why Wyoming needs to eliminate cell–phone usage behind the wheel. Multiple drivers made substantial counter–examples that do create a

How often do you walk into a restaurant and observe the better part of the patrons sitting with friends and family staring at their phone instead of
engaging one another? Cell phones and tablets are becoming commonplace in the world of restaurants, ultimately diminishing our interactions with
other people. Technology is ever increasingly taking over every facet of day to day life slowly removing the "human" from "Humanity". With cell
phones being designed to keep everyone connected with the ones they know via social media apps, they have done the exact opposite by removing
social interaction and replacing it with status updates and tweets. With obvious factors being clear on how cell phone usage harms a person's social
skills and family interactions, cell phones should be banned from use while frequenting a restaurant.
Cell phones are becoming more prevalent of everyday life, but have incidentally diminished the interaction between people and their loved ones. Once

Persuasive Essay On Hands Free Cell Phones
The hands–free cell phone bill being passed is well written and will make the roads safer. The government is working to pass a bill that will allow
people to talk on their cellphones as long as it is on a hands free device. This bill will help to make America a safer country by eliminating distraction
from the roads.
To begin, cellphone distraction and misuse on the roads is one of the leading causes of car crashes. An example from the text written by Mike
Landberg from Mercury News is, "Driver distraction or inattention contributes to nearly 80 percent of accidents" and it also later states, "there's no
question cell phones are a factor in many highway accidents" This means that a big portion of driving accidents are caused by the misuse of cellphones
on the road. This is important because with the bill being passed cellphone usage while driving will be reduced or even eliminated. On the other
hand, some people may believe that even talking on a hands free device can be distracting while driving. This is wrong because a person will have

someone needs medical services or other services they will be allowed to call 911. However, someone may not like this rule because in the time a

A large majority of us teenagers today spend most of our time using social media like Instagram or Snapchat or texting our friends for hours at a
time. Phones can become detrimental to our health and relationships if overused, but if used in moderate means, things may not become harmful.
Because the proportion of cell phone usage to face to face communication our relationships have started to turn downhill and become shallower
and meaningful. Today, when two friends hang out together they spend the majority of their time together scrolling through Instagram; they truly
do not spend quality time together. We cannot have a relationship with our phone. If, on the other hand, we did not spend all of their time on our
cell phones, we would develop deeper relationships, and create beautiful memories with our friends. To generate a richer environment in which we
as teenagers live, we should take action to make society less inclined to see what Kim Kardashian will dress up as for Halloween, but more
inclined to share our experiences and ideas while in the company of our friends. First of all, we need to create awareness of our overuse of
cellphones and social media, and through this we can let people know of an addiction which has become prominent in today's society. For
example, I could go into my youth group and act out a skit to show them the destructive ability of our use of phones with our friends. This, just one
example of creating awareness, shows my friends how harmful our phones can be at times. Although a rising crisis, my friends may not take the
skit seriously or understand what I might try to tell them. I could instead just give them the plain facts about how cell phones can create superficial
relationships with our friends, and if we desire deep meaningful relationships we should not spend all of our time on social media while in the
company of our friends. Becoming a prominent and natural state in our society we need to create awareness for the rising problem. Further, to stop
excessive amounts of phone use with our friends we could create a petition or pledge for people to sign and commit to solve the problem. If I decided
to share with my youth group about this problem, I could set up a table or

Cell phones aren't usually that big so it gives the students a great opportunity to cheat. Most of the time during a test, students go to different websites
to look for answers .Since they get free Wi–Fi in classrooms; it even becomes easier for them to cheat. In addition to that students can also trade
answers with other students in class through Facebook, sms, kik, message and other social apps.Nowadays, cell phones have become one of the
most useful source in America. In other words, a month earlier, I was looking through some photographs in my library class .The pictures were
about students who cheats on class works, tests, quizzes and homework and can even go to Gail for plagiarism. On the other hand, today's students
take this as a joke. They don't realize how it affects their grades. You can cheat a lot in life but one day there will be nothing to cheat from or anyone

A escalated large number of mobile phones has very much made the road safety community aware of the mishaps that can occur on the road by using
your cell phone. Not one person is a better–distracted driver than the next. There 's no such thing as a good distracted driver because I hear a lot of
people saying that they could drive but if you 're driving distracted you can 't drive. Everybody thinks that they are the perfect driver, but being a
great driver consist of driving by the rules for your safety and others. For this reason, standardized regulations laws should be in all states where the

while being distracted for any reason such as, talking on the phone in a heated conversation, eating, adjusting the radio, looking off, rubber necking,

can say that any distraction while driving is dangerous. Driving should have the primary focus, and that 's keeping your eyes on the road at all times

Ever seen a seven–year–old with a phone in a store and had a distinct feeling of wrong? That's the exact feeling a lot of adults feel when they see
younger children staring blankly at screens instead of outside playing the sun. Younger children are spending more time in front of a screen then
reading a book or playing with other children. This occurrence is not healthy for anyone especially children under the age of 12 whose brain is
nowhere near developed. By allowing younger generations to own cell phone so early we are allowing them to personal and emotional
connections to a device, be open to offenders that will hurt or give children bad impressions, and creating a huge impact on their life later on both
educationally and socially. According to Juana Summers, writer on NPR website, research from UCLA shows that children under eight years of
age are spending a minimum of 2 hours a day in front of a screen whether it be a handheld device or a television (Summers). To sum those numbers
up into a more direct base that is 14 hours a week, 56 hours a month, and up to 672 hours a year based on the rounded value of 2 hours a day, that's
28 days a year total that a kid waste on looking at a screen. Thatis incredibly concerning considering the fact that the human brain does not fully develop
until the mid–20's based on gender, health, and genetic background. By allowing children to waste their time looking at screen we are allowing them to
potentially harm their brain

Cell Phone Controversy Social media can be perceived as a form of self–expression and a way of connecting with one's peers. However, others have
argued that social media can cause an increase in mental health problems and a decrease in genuine communication(cite). Because of the impact of
social media on students, there is an ongoing debate about whether it is appropriate for students in grades 6–12 to have access to their cell phones in
school. Many have argued that allowing students to have their phones with them gives them a way to reach support in case of an emergency, but
others say that these devices are a source of distraction(cite). The use of social media and mobile devices affects students in positive and negative
ways. While some have used social media platforms as an outlet for emotional support (cite), others have become victims of cyberbullying(cite). Since
many students in grades 6–12 use their cell phones on a daily basis, arguments have been made on both sides whether cell phone use should be
permitted to help students interact educationally, or whether they should not be permitted since some see the use of social media as detrimental to a
student's mental health and self–esteem(cite). Jo Debens, a geography teacher found that the use of cellphones in schools had mostly positive effects on
the students(cite). She said that the school had formed a "mobile device policy" and that the use of phones allow students to set reminders for homework

Persuasive Essay On Mobile Technology

  • 1. Persuasive Essay On Mobile Technology Mobile technology has become an integral part of our lives. The concept of a mobile phone came about in 1973 when Martin Cooper, a Motorola researcher, made the first call from a wireless phone (Seward). For example, social media has enabled people to share photos and messages in ways never imaginable before, and productivity and education apps have helped people to work and learn in immersive...show more content... Obviously, parents have all sorts of different philosophies on cell phones, and some of these philosophies conflict with schools' policies. Many parents want their children to learn how to use technology responsibly; allowing use of personal technology during the school day does just that (Evanhoff). This way, students learn how to resist the urge to use phones for games or social media during the day. Parents also want the ability to quickly communicate with their kids; this provides parents with a sense of security and safety. They want to stay in touch with their kids in the event of an emergency, and they want to easily be able to communicate about carpools and other scheduling issues (Johnson). Technology should be viewed as an extension of the classroom rather than a hindrance to learning. Lecturing and other traditional methods of teaching are gradually fading away and are being replaced by more interactive ways of learning. For example, teachers can set up an "open channel" for students to provide comments on a class discussion through their phones (Evanhoff). Additionally, teachers can use apps to provide quick quizzes or polls to students. An added benefit of quiz apps is that teachers can immediately see results. At Rockhurst, some classes use a website called Kahoot! to review material; students can either use their iPads, smartphones, or laptops to play. Students also use apps like iMovie on their smartphones to create films for projects. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Persuasive Essay On Cell Phones Back in 1973, Mr. Martin Cooper an American telecommunication engineer working for Motorola had a vision. He dreamed a world where people would be able to walk around with their own phones, connecting to their loved ones, coworkers or pretty much take care everything that they needed to. The first mobile phone was over two pounds, took ten hours to charge and could be used only for a little bit over thirty minutes for a price tag of $3995. Back in the late 70s, it was hard to imagine that one–day cellular phones will be part of our everyday life, accompany us regardless our age, social status or where we live. Mr. Cooper's vision has become reality and today's phones are not only functioning as communication devices, they also serve as our personal assistant. Today's cellphones can execute tasks that a decade ago not even a computer was able to do. Sending E–mails, playing videos, connecting to the internet or using our phone as a multi applicational work station is part of our everyday life, it does not surprise anyone anymore. But functions that; prevent drunk driving, pick up thermal images, measure our health rate or tell you when you pull your fishing rod out of the water to catch a fish, are getting more common as our smartphones expend in storage space, functionality and user–friendliness. We are more and more depend on our smartphones to be able to function in our everyday life. We also tend to keep a big part of our personal informations on these devices. • 3. Cell Phones Persuasive Speech Jesus Mendoza In an era where cell phones are the norm, when we go to the store and see a young child bumping and running into things because their focus is on their cell phones. In this passage i will be talking and explaining why I believe from what these two passages are stating, in the side of Linda Sidner. We should wait for our children to get older so we can give them the privilege of a phone. Here are my three reasons why we should wait for our kids to give them phones. Firstly, the growth of cyber bullying and safety of the internet. Secondly, the children should earn the right to have a cell phone because a cell phone is a privilege . Lastly, they should be old enough to contribute to the cell phone bill. First since your child...show more content... When my parents needed to get a hold of me they would call the home or place i would be to make sure i got to my destination safely. When i got to the correct age my parents seen it fit for me to get a phone because i showed them that i was being responsible. Where would our children's focus be if we give them a phone in such a young age? Lastly, I believe a child should understand the concept of paying a cell phone bill. At the age of 16, children can find a part time job to contribute to the bill to get the understanding that. The expense that comes from our cell phones. That would give our children a sense of responsibility and the understanding of hard work. Instead of just handing them the cell phone and them not understanding the expense that comes from that phone. What kind of mindset will we give our children if we just hand them things and there is no commitment behind it? In closing, We as parents should wait so we can teach them and guide them down the right mental path so they can avoid the scares of social media and personal experience. Lastly to show our children hard work in paying and contributing in the cell phone bill.Go back to a far memory of when you were a child, how would your parents treat this delicate Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Persuasive Speech On Cell Phones Taking away your teen's phone can be a reflexive response to misbehavior. After all, what do they value more than their phones? And if that's your go–to punishment, you're not alone. Researchers find that 65 percent of parents take away cell phones or Internet privileges as punishment. HOOK: Today's teens rely on their smartphones for their social life, their homework, and–let's face it–their ability to communicate with us, is it a valid punishment? BRIDGE: Sit down together to discuss proper use of the phone, inviting your teen's perspective as well, and create a list of phone behaviors with rewards for good behaviors and punishments for bad ones. For example, you might tell teens that if they fail to come to dinner because they are Snapchatting, they will lose the phone for an hour after dinner. THESIS: In today's world, the phone often provides a primary source of access to both social support and necessary data for school and extracurricular activities," Dodgen–Magee says. "To simply yank it away would be like taking away the support of a bridge with nothing in its place." II. LOGOS : Taking your kids phone away might be a bad choice because , if they go out somewhere and are caught in something tragic , they don't have nothing to get in contact with an emergency helpline . REASON : parents take away the phone for an unrelated infraction, like missing curfew. EVIDENCE : Half of teens now feel "addicted" to their mobile devices – and 60 percent of parents agree with Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Cell Phones Persuasive Research Paper An iPhone was positioned in the hands of Rylee for the first time. An app (Pokemon Go) was uploaded that every person in her school talks about. The location services were turned on, on Rylee's phone and she saunters around outside by herself for hours. Rylee accumulated her fiftieth Pokemon as she looks up and notices the pitch black viewpoint, she wondered where she was. Nothing but a whistle of the nippy wind was flying by her ear. Rylee continues to walk a little further and she trusts herself that she could stay out for only a few other minutes. Subsequently, she turned around and overheard a crack, she looked up, down, left, right, and witnessed nothing. So, Rylee took a step and noticed a closer crack, so she looks left, right, up, and down. One extra step was taken when Rylee felt warm, clammy hands on her right arm and...show more content... The cell phones people use cause accidents on the road, ramifications to the brain, and hackers can discover secret or paramount information. Cell phones are gradually ruining people's life physically and mentally. If some people don't know the harm about cell phones, they might experience something they wish will never happen again. Take part in preaching the words to others around you so they are aware of the situation. People's minds are stuck on the screen and need to start waking up and notice the dangers with cell phones. Some people learned this by experiencing one of the dangers. To prevent people from not experiencing a hardship from cellular devices is to inaugurate a group of people to recommend punishments to those who fail to follow the rules with the system. Furthermore, picture your future in 10 years. Can you imagine yourself being one of those people remembering the harmful effects of cell phones and spreading the word to others or someone who disremembers all about the negative effects of cell phones and soon comes to meeting abysmal Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Persuasive Essay On Having A Phone What do you think of specifically when someone asks what everyone has these days? I don't know about you, but I think of a phone. Most everyone, no matter what age, has a phone in today's world. I think I should get a phone because it will be easier to contact people as well as making it easier to use the internet for educational purposes, easier to stay updated on certain situations going on in my life and it will teach and make me become more responsible. To begin with, I think I should get a phone because will make it a lot easier to contact people I know, such as family or friends that live far away or even if they are only a little bit away. With an iPod I can text, but only when I'm connected to wifi. It will also make it easier to use the internet whenever needed for education and learning purposes. I then can look up help on homework whenever I need to with or without wifi. But not only will a having a phone help me contact people easier and get school help it would also be easier to stay updated on certain things. Second, I think I should get a phone because I would be more up to date on certain issues going on in my life. I would be able to check messages from my mentors easier. Especially with our grade being on social media all the time, now I feel really left out. I never know what others are talking about. With a phone and having the privilege to be active on social media I think I would be more involved with my friends. I also think I would be more accurate Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Persuasive Essay On The Use Of Cell Phones At night you take a shower, brush your teeth, put your pajamas on then lay in bed for hours on your phone, IPod, IPad, laptop, etc. Ever since technology made a break through face to face communication has decreased and personal time with our phones has increased. Before bed you say to yourself that you will reply to one email and that leads to scrolling through Facebook. Not getting enough sleep at night or quality sleep can affect how productive you are throughout your day. The National Sleep Foundation took a poll of Americans ages 13 to 94 to see who used their phones before going to bed, 95 percent of the 1,508 said they do. Russell Rosenberg who is the vice chairman of the National Sleep Foundation says "Unfortunately, cell phones and computers, which make our lives more productive and enjoyable, may also be abused to the point that they contribute to getting less sleep at night leaving millions of Americans functioning poorly the next day." Americans should eliminate the usage of technology before going to bed because it can lead to sleep deprivation, poor work habits during the day, health issues, such as insomnia, weight gain, and reoccurring headaches. The technology that we look at before bed gives off blue and white light, this light is messing with our bodies internal clock and make us more alert at night. Researchers say that espresso coffee does not affect your sleep as much as your cell phones light. The light prevents our brain from releasing melatonin, "A Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Cell Phones Persuasive Essay Cell phones have become a major part of peoples lives and in modern society. Cell phones are current in society, adults to small children have cell phones. A debate on cell phones in school is occurring more and more. Do students deserve to have their cell phones for use during instruction time or school hours? Research states that cell phones are no benefit to students in school. Others claim to state that cell phones are in fact, beneficial to students and will not damage the learning environment for students. These arguments have been more plentiful in schools all over the country. Some schools have decided and ruled out cell phones, but other schools are still tied up in the debate. Students should not be able to operate cell phones ...show more content... Cell phones will simply make it easier for students to cheat and be dishonest. Cell phones can distract and interrupt students and their class. In modern society, everyone pays attention to their cell phones and nothing else. Students are no exception to this, they will spring for their cell phones after every ring, vibrate, or notification. It would be very difficult for students to pay attention and learn. With text and social media, students would rather be occupied with their cell phones, then learning. Cell phones are major interruptions in class and to the students. For example, a student may have their phone set to silent mode, which is most likely, and it rings in the middle of class. In this situation, the cell phone will not only interrupt the student, but the student's entire class. A cell phone cannot just be a distraction and interruption to the student, but also can be an interruption and distraction to the classmates. If students are allowed to use their cell phones in class, they will use them to look at non educational, which another distraction. Another problem that comes with allowing cell phones to be used in school is cyber bullying. Cyber bullying occurs online, usually it happens on social media, text, or emails. Cyber bullying is when one person says hurtful things about an another person over the Internet. Bullying also occurs a lot in schools also. Cell phones would Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Cell Phones Persuasive Speech In today's world, distractions remain prevalent in simple everyday occurrences. Amongst these distractions is the use of cell phones whether simply walking down the hallway absorbed in a conversation or behind the wheel driving down the highway. Cell phones, no matter the context, are a major distraction. They have managed to pull us away from spending time with our families and appearing in places they are not prevalent such as family dinners and behind the wheel of a car. These little handheld devices are useful tools that today's generation is lucky to have, but they can cause grave danger. They can even decide whether you live another minute. In all cases, it is not this extreme, see however, it is. According to U.S. cell phone and driving statistics in 2012, 3,328 people died in cell–phone distraction–related crashes. About 421,000 obtained injuries in crashes involving a distracted driver. Since that survey numbers have only kept increasing. This statistic alone makes the situation a little clearer and establishes a concrete reason why Wyoming needs to eliminate cell–phone usage behind the wheel. Multiple drivers made substantial counter–examples that do create a point, but default in ways. Larisa Antonisse from Maryland stated, "If the use, of a cell phone while driving is illegal, it only makes sense to ban eating, drinking, changing the radio station, and glancing at the scenery." Her statement makes sense for a more populous state such as Maryland. However, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Persuasive Essay On The Use Of Cell Phones How often do you walk into a restaurant and observe the better part of the patrons sitting with friends and family staring at their phone instead of engaging one another? Cell phones and tablets are becoming commonplace in the world of restaurants, ultimately diminishing our interactions with other people. Technology is ever increasingly taking over every facet of day to day life slowly removing the "human" from "Humanity". With cell phones being designed to keep everyone connected with the ones they know via social media apps, they have done the exact opposite by removing social interaction and replacing it with status updates and tweets. • 12. Persuasive Essay On Hands Free Cell Phones The hands–free cell phone bill being passed is well written and will make the roads safer. The government is working to pass a bill that will allow people to talk on their cellphones as long as it is on a hands free device. This bill will help to make America a safer country by eliminating distraction from the roads. To begin, cellphone distraction and misuse on the roads is one of the leading causes of car crashes. An example from the text written by Mike Landberg from Mercury News is, "Driver distraction or inattention contributes to nearly 80 percent of accidents" and it also later states, "there's no question cell phones are a factor in many highway accidents" This means that a big portion of driving accidents are caused by the misuse of cellphones on the road. • 13. Persuasive Essay On The Use Of Cell Phones A large majority of us teenagers today spend most of our time using social media like Instagram or Snapchat or texting our friends for hours at a time. Phones can become detrimental to our health and relationships if overused, but if used in moderate means, things may not become harmful. Because the proportion of cell phone usage to face to face communication our relationships have started to turn downhill and become shallower and meaningful. Today, when two friends hang out together they spend the majority of their time together scrolling through Instagram; they truly do not spend quality time together. We cannot have a relationship with our phone. If, on the other hand, we did not spend all of their time on our cell phones, we would develop deeper relationships, and create beautiful memories with our friends. To generate a richer environment in which we as teenagers live, we should take action to make society less inclined to see what Kim Kardashian will dress up as for Halloween, but more inclined to share our experiences and ideas while in the company of our friends. First of all, we need to create awareness of our overuse of cellphones and social media, and through this we can let people know of an addiction which has become prominent in today's society. For example, I could go into my youth group and act out a skit to show them the destructive ability of our use of phones with our friends. This, just one example of creating awareness, shows my friends how harmful our phones can be at times. Although a rising crisis, my friends may not take the skit seriously or understand what I might try to tell them. I could instead just give them the plain facts about how cell phones can create superficial relationships with our friends, and if we desire deep meaningful relationships we should not spend all of our time on social media while in the company of our friends. Becoming a prominent and natural state in our society we need to create awareness for the rising problem. Further, to stop excessive amounts of phone use with our friends we could create a petition or pledge for people to sign and commit to solve the problem. If I decided to share with my youth group about this problem, I could set up a table or Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Everybody thinks that they are the perfect driver, but being a great driver consist of driving by the rules for your safety and others. For this reason, standardized regulations laws should be in all states where the use of cell phones and driving are concerned. Research shows that between 20 or 30 percent of automobile accidents happen in the United States while being distracted for any reason such as, talking on the phone in a heated conversation, eating, adjusting the radio, looking off, rubber necking, etc, indicates the increases the risk by four. Other studies, based on driver simulation tests, conclude that people have difficulty multitasking. I really can say that any distraction while driving is dangerous. • 18. Persuasive Essay On Cell Phones Ever seen a seven–year–old with a phone in a store and had a distinct feeling of wrong? That's the exact feeling a lot of adults feel when they see younger children staring blankly at screens instead of outside playing the sun. Younger children are spending more time in front of a screen then reading a book or playing with other children. This occurrence is not healthy for anyone especially children under the age of 12 whose brain is nowhere near developed. By allowing younger generations to own cell phone so early we are allowing them to personal and emotional connections to a device, be open to offenders that will hurt or give children bad impressions, and creating a huge impact on their life later on both educationally and socially. According to Juana Summers, writer on NPR website, research from UCLA shows that children under eight years of age are spending a minimum of 2 hours a day in front of a screen whether it be a handheld device or a television (Summers). To sum those numbers up into a more direct base that is 14 hours a week, 56 hours a month, and up to 672 hours a year based on the rounded value of 2 hours a day, that's 28 days a year total that a kid waste on looking at a screen. Thatis incredibly concerning considering the fact that the human brain does not fully develop until the mid–20's based on gender, health, and genetic background. By allowing children to waste their time looking at screen we are allowing them to potentially harm their brain Get more content on HelpWriting.net
