2. What is ecosystems?
Ecosystem is made up of two types of components -
biotic and abiotic components.
Biotic are living the living factors of the enviorment.
Abiotic factors are the non-living components of the
enviorment.
5. Structure of an ecosystem
Biotic factors are dependent on abiotic factors and
they are capable to adapt with different abiotic factors.
Abiotic factors like air, water, soil, etc affects the biotic
factors.
The proportion of abiotic factors in an ecosystem is
always changing due to biotic factors.
Every biotic factor is included in an ecosystem.
The role that a biotic factor plays in an ecosystem is
called Niche.

7. About ecosystems
Most of the ecosystems are complex and have a huge
variety of species.
In countries like India few species are found
everywhere.
Each place has different ecosystem.
Types of ecosystems are formed according to
size,place,climate,types of plants and animals.
Though many types of ecosystems are found in
biosphere but they all are linked to each other directly
or indirectly.
8. How the word ‘ecosystem’ came in use
''How can we describe the inter relationship between
physical and biological factors in one word ?'' This
question was asked to a scientist Ray Claffam and he
answered ‘ecosystem’.
His colleague A.G. Tansle used this word in 1935.
'Biotic community' is another name for 'ecosystem.'
9. Biomes
In some regions on earth, a large area has same climate
and abiotic factors. The living organisms in those area
are also similar. So a specific ecosystem developes in a
vast area. Such large ecosystems are called 'Biomes'.
These biomes contain many small ecosystems.
There are two types of biomes, land biomes and
aquatic biomes.
