Immediately after LASIK, you may experience:
Mild discomfort
Blurry vision
An itchy, gritty or irritated sensation
Tearing and watery eyes
A sensation as if something is in your eye
Our LASIK surgeons will prescribe a mild pain reliever to alleviate
any discomfort. We will also provide you with eye drops to
facilitate the healing process and help with dry eyes.

You'll want to give
yourself some time to rest
and relax while your eyes
heal. Avoid activities such
as running, athletics, and
anything else that may
potentially impact the
healing process during
the first few days of your
recovery.
4. You may experience some of the following issues
during the first week of recovery:
• Blurry vision
• Fluctuations in the quality of your vision
• Poor night vision
• Glare or halos around light sources
These issues will subside as your eyes heal.

Avoid contact sports and other athletic activities that can potentially
cause damage to your eye for at least 4-6 weeks. The corneal flap is still
healing during this time, and you will need to protect your eyes until the
flap has fully healed.

It may take as long as 3-6
months for your vision to
fully stabilize after LASIK.
During this time, you may
experience periodic
fluctuations in vision. While
rare, you may also
occasionally experience
symptoms such as glare
and halos until your vision
has fully stabilized. Make
sure you discuss any vision
issues you're experiencing
with our ophthalmologists
during your follow-up visits.

According to data released by WebMD, over 94% of LASIK patients achieve 20/40
vision or better, which is generally good enough to eliminate the need for glasses
and contact lenses. The vast majority of our patients achieve 20/20 vision or better.
8. You may still need reading glasses to
correct age-related vision conditions
such as presbyopia as you get older.
9. 9 8 . 8 %
An analysis of 97 LASIK studies encompassing
68,000 patients found that 98.8% of LASIK
patients were satisfied with their results.
