I am a US expat from NYC living in Billund with my wife and daughter since January 2021.
I have led Talent & People teams in North America, Europe and Africa.
I have worked at 10 person seed stage companies, and 500+ person companies preparing
for exit across a fairly wide array of industries.
I also used to be a school teacher in the South Bronx, where I really built my HR chops.

on board
You’ll need to sell on vision, so be sure
to have one.
Remember, you’re dealing with
grown-ups.
Leverage headhunters to get the first
meeting.
Be radically candid and realistic with
yourself and your candidates.
Don’t micromanage. Don’t abdicate.

scale

years ago. Ask your Series C friends 😉.
Find your first People person and keep
your external recruiters*.
Bring on someone who has done it
before and don’t compromise.
Have them implement an ATS, a hiring
framework and interviewer training.
Obsess over onboarding.

Build your brand, not somebody else’s.
Make sure everyone knows how to pitch
and generate referrals.
Put employer brand on Marketing’s and
People's OKRs.
Hold TA accountable with top of funnel
