 Some phases are repeated within the song to show that its
based on a certain subject. ‘Billie Jean’, ‘Kid is not my son’,
‘Lover’.
 ‘For forty days and forty nights, the law was on her side’ – This
could mean that police are helping her finding someone, she
could be a victim of rape. 40 days and nights could suggest this
is being they’ve been constantly looking for him (Michael).
 ‘She showed a photo of a baby crying, his eyes looked like
mine’ – Billie Jean is adamant that Michael is the father as they
have the same genetically.
 Overall, this can be about an unfaithful relationship that has
been caused and now there is confusion about who’s the father
of the child. Michael Jackson denies that he is the father.
