Job Title: Perfect Plant Management System (PPMS) – Functional Lead

Since Launching the Perfect Plant programme in Africa in 2007 we have seen an :
• Incremental improvement in Manufacturing Excellence performance on all our sites
• Spikes in performance on some sites but we have not been able to sustain momentum
We have struggled to leverage ME as a clear competitive advantage in the region and are
• Off track to deliver our F13 commitments
• Need to make a step change in performance to be competitive in key markets by F15
We are looking to create and embed a robust and prescriptive management infrastructure on
all our sites across Africa
Working with an external partner we will:
• Mobilise our own resources to manage and lead the programme
• Develop the Business way based on internal and external benchmarks
• Test, implement & refine the system on two sites in F13 (Tusker & Kumasi sites)
• Set up a robust & sustainable programme for implementation on all Africa sites by F15
We are looking to appoint a cross functional programme team to start implementation from
1st
April on the 2 test sites in Kenya and Ghana. The expected duration of the test
implementation will be 6 months.
We will then look for members of the programme team to fast track implementation across all
sites by F15

The team roles will manage the functional implementation of the programme in Benin in
F13/F14 with the expectation that the programme will be
rolled out across all Africa sites by F15
• They will have day to day prog mgt responsibility for departmental/functional delivery on
site
• They will work with the Dept manager/team, project team and other stakeholders
• They will need to have strong influence/impact on Site Production and Planning Teams
• They will need to engage and partner with key Supply Partners (GBSCA)

Programme manage the implementation and execution of PPMS in their functional
department on the test site driving cost reduction, capacity release and value
creation/margin enhancing initiatives
As Functional lead on test site
• Deliver sustained step change in functional department
• Act as guardian of the business Building Manufacturing Excellence
• Drive consistency & standardisation of best practice i department
• Ensure audits schedules are planned and gaps addressed
• Build strong in-market and GBTS networks
As functional lead
• Create conditions to influence performance and behavioural change in dept/on site
• Act as a role model and coach for the Perfect Plant delivery
• Balance between coaching/developing/directing to deliver change and performance
As functional lead
• Be determined, resilient and hold departmental team to account
• Rigorously apply global processes to ensure execution plan
• Be culturally sensitive and able to drive change in department
• Flexible in approach but focussed on delivering the right outcomes
Purpose of Role As functional lead for the test site - implement a sustainable model for management in
functional department on the test site-
This will drive a sustainable change in managerial behaviours, embed a standardised,
compliant and solid platform for strong performance improvements across function
This will result in a step change in Manufacturing performance KPI’s in site department by
end of F14 & support delivery of F15 aspirations

performance and set up functional department for sustained delivery on site post
programme.
Day to Day functional management
• Partner Departmental manager and team in delivery of programme
• Coach and support team members through programme stages
Diagnose and design local Implementation Plan
• Engage and partner with local team
• Carry out assessment v PPMS standards
• Configure to local needs and create dept implementation plan
• Determine exit criteria and milestones
• Share best practice and influence development of change methodology for roll-out
Departmental Implementation on test site
• Manage the delivery of the dept implementation plan
• Track, measure, review, escalate & address issues
• Support dept improvement on test sites aligned to TIPS
• Evidence through step change in dept/site performance
As functional lead
• Rapid development of dept manager and team members
• Ensure adherence to dept/site mgr behavioural processes
• Identification/ development of local talent for key site roles and/or for Implementation
team
Embed programme on site/dept
• Evidence of sustained and compliant change through defined auditing process
• Evidence through integrity of data and BPM processes/deliverables
• Evidence through strong asset care and CI on site
• Evidence of strong functional capability development on site

Qualifications and Experience
Required

Experienced Departmental manager for a minimum of 3 years in chosen function
• Proven track record of performance
• Experienced line manager, strong coach & track record of developing individuals and
teams in manufacturing environment
• Experienced in delivering within strong governance (Quality, safety, environment, risk)
environment
Experienced functional, operations and best practice deployment
• Applied science or Engineering degree or equivalent experience
• Member of professional body. Eg. Institute of Brewing or Packaging
• Well developed knowledge of process engineering, brewing, packaging, supply chain
processes and commercial market awareness
• Good understanding of Lean Manufacturing Six Sigma, Manufacturing Excellence best
practice (DWBME/equiv) Manufacturing systems and processes (SAP, Maintenance,
process control, DWB, BPM, ISO etc)
• Experience of managing within a strong Manufacturing compliance and legislative
environment (Risk, Quality, Safety, HR etc)
Experienced Programme Manager
• Demonstrated delivery of Manufacturing Change programmes
• Experience of delivering change across sites and preferably countries
• Evidence of strong stakeholder management and delivery
• Delivery of global approach applied locally
