Since Launching the Perfect Plant programme in Africa in 2007 we have seen an :
• Incremental improvement in Manufacturing Excellence performance on all our sites
• Spikes in performance on some sites but we have not been able to sustain momentum
We have struggled to leverage ME as a clear competitive advantage in the region and are
• Off track to deliver our F13 commitments
• Need to make a step change in performance to be competitive in key markets by F15
We are looking to create and embed a robust and prescriptive management infrastructure on
all our sites across Africa
Working with an external partner we will:
• Mobilise our own resources to manage and lead the programme
• Develop the Business way based on internal and external benchmarks
• Test, implement & refine the system on two sites in F13 (Tusker & Kumasi sites)
• Set up a robust & sustainable programme for implementation on all Africa sites by F15
We are looking to appoint a cross functional programme team to start implementation from
1st
April on the 2 test sites in Kenya and Ghana. The expected duration of the test
implementation will be 6 months.
We will then look for members of the programme team to fast track implementation across all
sites by F15

The team roles will manage the functional implementation of the programme in Benin in
F13/F14 with the expectation that the programme will be
rolled out across all Africa sites by F15

• They will need to have strong influence/impact on Site Production and Planning Teams

creation/margin enhancing initiatives

• Drive consistency & standardisation of best practice i department
• Ensure audits schedules are planned and gaps addressed

Purpose of Role As functional lead for the test site - implement a sustainable model for management in
functional department on the test site-

Qualifications and Experience
Required

Experienced Departmental manager for a minimum of 3 years in chosen function
• Proven track record of performance
• Experienced line manager, strong coach & track record of developing individuals and
teams in manufacturing environment
• Experienced in delivering within strong governance (Quality, safety, environment, risk)
environment
Experienced functional, operations and best practice deployment
• Applied science or Engineering degree or equivalent experience
• Member of professional body. Eg. Institute of Brewing or Packaging
• Well developed knowledge of process engineering, brewing, packaging, supply chain
processes and commercial market awareness
• Good understanding of Lean Manufacturing Six Sigma, Manufacturing Excellence best
practice (DWBME/equiv) Manufacturing systems and processes (SAP, Maintenance,
process control, DWB, BPM, ISO etc)
• Experience of managing within a strong Manufacturing compliance and legislative
environment (Risk, Quality, Safety, HR etc)
Experienced Programme Manager
• Demonstrated delivery of Manufacturing Change programmes
• Experience of delivering change across sites and preferably countries
• Evidence of strong stakeholder management and delivery
