Financial Analyst - Manufacturing
Due to the size of the business and the relationship with Bose Corporation, the role was varied and wide ranging
and included being responsible for all aspects of the Finance and Operations functions.
Responsible in Costing Bill of Materials, Work Order Material/Configuration variances and ensuring Material,
Freight & Duty on Standard costs. Reports on manufacturing costs versus Budgets, Profit & Loss Account, Balance
Sheet, Forecasting and Budgets.
• Achieved, as main contributor using Lean techniques, a reduction from 2.5 days to 1 day for month end close,
resulting in the earliest possible publication of month end financial accounts.
• Led a scrum team, which documented month-end steps, and created a fall back system which achieved work
continuity due to absences
• On an on-going basis, using PDCA (plan-do-check-act), liaised with other Departments on tracking Project
costs, which resulted in significant cost savings, e.g. in one case over $.5m.
• Successfully implemented a General Ledger in the Manman System, and received a President’s Award for this
project.
• Represented Finance Accounting European requirements at Bose US Headquarters, which planned the
implementation of the SAP System.
