2. IN ORDER TO ATTRACT OUR AUDIENCE, WE USED
THE SAME METHODS THAT A PROFESSIONAL
DISTRIBUTION COMPANY WOULD CREATE:
• Instagram Page
• Twitter Feed
• Facebook Page
• Website page
• Tumblr Page
3. FACEBOOK
FACEBOOK: Callum Drewett has taken charge of the Facebook Page
Facebook is a social media platform that is widely used by distributors as a
free method of marketing and advertising for their movies, for
example ’Deadpool’ got 6.6 million followers from when it was set up to the
when the movie was released in 2015. This proves that social media a hugely
successful platform for distributors due to the range and amount of people
that it can reach.
Viral marketing like this uses the "Two step Flow " model of audience behavior
which depends on people valuing the opinion of friends and opinion formers
that they trust, this is a form of word of mouth marketing.
They also used Ryan Reynolds' Facebook account as a method in which to
reach a further audience, 3.1 million followers.
one unique benefit for Facebook over Instagram is the ability to upload
longer trailers and/ or longer special clips from the movie.
Relevant people were invited and tagged in the facebook page in order for it
to gain as much views and likes as possible.

5. INSTAGRAM
• I took charge of the Instagram account/page
• I used within my Instagram posts relevant hashtags to allow for it to get
increased views and for it to get be involved with relevant topics that were going
on. The use of these hashtags has meant that it was involved with all media
conversations that were going on at that time, using #media #editing #film.
• Instagram is one of the most popular and widely used social media platforms.
Distributors use it to market their films to their target audience through
hashtags. ’Deadpool’ (2016) did this very successfully due to the amount of
attention that they got, 1.4 million followers.
They also used Ryan Reynolds', ‘Deadpool’, Instagram account, 9.1 million
followers, to reach a further audience of people. This resulted
in ’Deadpool’ becoming the top grossing MARVEL movie ever made and the top
grossing ‘R’ rated movie ever, overtaking ‘The Matrix’.

7. TWITTER
Calum Gethin-Barkway has taken charge of the Twitter account
Twitter is an extremely useful and influential social media platform due to the
effectiveness of hashtags. The use of hashtags can be used to break into any
conversation and if that hashtag gets trending then it will appear on
everyone’s feed. The use of only 140 characters also allows for quick updates
on the progression of the movie, this will mean that people will be less likely to
be put off by large amounts of text, like on Facebook for example.
We used twitter to give or audience updates on the production process, as
well as brief teasers regarding our plot.

9. WEBSITE PAGE
• Alastair Simpson has taken charge of the Website Page
The website page gives the audience an interactive task that relates to the
film. There are many success stories with website pages. One example is
Jurassic World who created a website that directly linked to the Jurassic World
universe and immersed new audiences and old audiences. It also provided
links to merchandise as well as local cinemas in which the films would be
shown. This made it easier for Jurassic World to make sales and generate a
profit.
Our website page contained the plot of the film as well as tags to our
Facebook page, Instagram and Twitter Feed.
