1. AS Media Question 1 9 Frame snap shot
In thisscene,we are presentedwithaneffective
lowangle shotif the main character,lookingdown
at something.Withpastactionmovies,theyhave
successfullyusedthiskindof shottoshowthat the
character islookingdownatsomethingimportant.
ThisshowshowI have usedconventionsof real
mediaproductsbecause Iuseditto showhe is
lookingdownatsomethingthatwe laterfindout
that itis a knife onthe floor.Thishas helpedmy
filmeffectivelyappeal tomytargetaudience
because itwassuch an effective shotasinthe
backgroundthere wastense anddramatic music
whichhelpedcreate aneerie mood.
Thisscene isanotherexample of howIhave usedand
developedconventionsfromreal mediaproducts.In
thisscene,we are presentedwithanoverthe
shouldershotof the maincharacter lookingdownat
whatwe findoutto be hisfriendwhilstholdinga
bottle of pillsinhishands. Thisisa quite common
conventionusedinactionfilms,especiallyinthe film
Takenwhichisalso an actionfilmandusesa scene a
bitlike this.Iaddedthisto my filmtomake itlook
more realisticandto make the audience feelvery
sympathetictothe character andto emphasize they
fact that thisfilmissuspensefulandtense withhints
of violenceandstronglanguage.Thisscene worked
well withmyfilmbecause Iwastoldbypeople I
surveyedthatitwas a verygoodscene and itwas very
effective.
Finally,thisscene showsthe example of howIhave
usedand developedconventionsof real media
products.In thisscene,we are firstpresentedwiththe
bad character inthe filmas he ispresentedinthe dark
withthe audience notbeingable tosee hisface.This
showshowhe may be evil andis tryingtokeephidden
fromthe audience.Thistype of scene hasbeenusedin
several otheractionmovieswhena‘bad’character is
introducedanditmade the overall filmlookmuch
more realisticanddramaticto properlyappeartothe
target audience.
