Band & Track Name: The Black Atlantic – Fragile Meadow
Running Time:
General style of music video:
Theories by Andrew Goodwin I intend to follow:
1. There is a relationship between the lyrics and the visuals (with the visuals illustrating, amplifying or contradicting the music)
Theories by Joan Lynch (1984) that I intend to conform to:
1. Narrative – due to the unsuccessful attempt at lip sync I have decided not to use this or performance in my music video due to it looking unrealistic and as well as the lyrics relating to the video it won’t be conceptual.
Theories by Jon Gow (1992) that I intend to conform to:
1. The anti-performance song.
Briefly describe what will happen in your music video, highlighting camera angles and effects used:
My music video will subvert all the expectations of the audience, for example the music, genre and lyrics suggest a graceful woman to be his love but instead the video will present something different a Woman of lower class and a unique look that wouldn’t have met the viewer’s expectation of being heard with a folk song, again when The Black Atlantic mention a ‘field’ a huge amount of green is envisaged by the audience but what will be presented is a worn down park that’s over grown. Therefore I want this video to be about subverting conventions.
