BACKGROUND
The undergraduate project is considered to be an important part of the
engineering education process and often one of the major pieces of
independent research that a student will undertake. It involves
analysis, design, development and fabrication processes. Students
work independently on a project or work in teams ranging from one to
three. The project is supervised by an expert specialized in the area of
interest.
Project Exhibition creates a platform for undergraduate students to
showcase and demonstrate the innovative projects undertaken to the
university community, industry and the public. Also, it initiates
interactions between the audience – industrial representatives,
academicians and students. The projects will not only be evaluated
but also motivate the students in search of their own engineering
project interest, promote industry involvement in the activities of the
institutions of higher learning, inculcate the culture of
entrepreneurship among the members of the technology by providing
the exposure to the needs of industry and business.
The exhibition will keep the participants intellectually vigorous,
allowing them to make contributions to their field, and enhancing the
quality of their learning. In addition, they will have a realistic
understanding of the discipline, experience in actually creating
solutions and an opportunity to experience first-hand the thrills of
success and frustration of failure. Overall, the exhibition will offer the
participants to develop independent critical thinking skills,
collaborative working skills, oral and written communication and
presentation skills as well as marketing skills, thereby building their
confidence.
