2. iMovie allowed me to produce my film in 1080P HD resolution
for a more professional finish which made the footage more
crisp and clear.
iMovie has a very simple layout that is easy to understand and
access, with available enhancements such as colour
corrections to manipulate the contrast, saturation or
transparency.
The software allowed me to layer the footage on top of each
other and also the audio with no complication, which again,
added to a more professional touch.
IMOVIE BENEFITS
3. Since the early 1900’s film has come a long way in terms of the
development of all aspects of production, distribution and
exhibition.
The adapted and enhanced areas consist of the quality of images
(for example 1080P HD), clearer sound and better sound effects,
portability (iPhone) and technical ability in the editing category.
In 1903 Edwin S. Porter was the first director/producer to
introduce the idea of cross cutting from previously only having
one single and continuous reel, and filmed on a large and
stationary camera. Since then we have developed and invented
drones to film hands free at a birds eye view, green screens to
superimpose images that are not present in the natural world,
and steady cams, which are not only portable but they stabilize
the shakiness of the footage when moving, even when it is hand
held.
THE EVOLUTION OF FILM TECHNOLOGY
4. The history of the Internet begins with the development of electronic
computers in the 1950s.However In the 1980s, the work of Tim
Berners-Lee from the United Kingdom, on the World Wide Web
theorized the fact that protocols link hypertext documents into a
working system, marking the beginning of the modern internet. Since
the mid 1990’s, the internet has had a revolutionary impact on culture
and commerce, including the rise of near-instant communication by
electronic mail, instant messaging, voiceover Internet Protocol (VOIP)
Telephone calls, two-way interactive video calls and the World Wide
Web with its discussion on forums, blogs, social networking and online
shopping sites.
This allows an ease of production and distribution over the World Wide
Web that could go viral within a matter or minutes. This is because of
Sharing and streaming of content.
Unfortunately, even though Cinemas have that unique film experience
with the surround sound soft seating, popcorn and a large audience
accompanying you, it is not preventing people (young adults and
teenagers especially) from viewing content on websites such as Netflix
for a lower cost without having to get dressed or leave the house.
THE HISTORY OF THE INTERNET AND ITS
EFFECTS
5. I have learnt just how useful new technologies are for piecing
together footage to create film. It allows you to perform
multiple happenings at the same time by cutting up footage
and running them parallel with each other. It also allows you
to make a piece more dynamically interesting by incorporating
the use of CGI animation and Sound whether it be diegetic or
not.
I fell like it Is achievable to use affordable high street
software to create a professional opening sequence just like
we did by using a combination of school cameras, iPhone
cameras (with tripods) and iMovie on my MacBook(under
teachers supervision).
