ABSTRACT
In this world of science and technology robotics is
one of the boom to the world. Recently, there has been
increasing interest in the emerging field of robotics. Today’s
robots are mechanical arms controlled by computers that are
programmed to perform a range of handling activities. They
are establishing themselves in manufacturing automation
systems to produce a range of goods with great precision. The
emerging era of robots calls for different types of skills. With
their computational and agile skills robots perform tasks that
are difficult or hazardous to humans. One area where robots
are beginning to excel in, and which causes less controversial
debate on their usefulness, is as explorers. The exploration of
Mars has long been considered as a major goal in the
exploration of the Solar System. This exploration is performed
by using robots known as Mars Exploration Rovers. We are
going to present a view of the rover and its operation.

WHATISMANUFACTURING?
There are many ways and definition are available to
explain the concept of manufacturing.
A. The process of converting raw materials into
finished products.
B. Manufacturing is a very broad activity ,
encompassing many functions into every thing for
the quality control into a new product.
C. Chemical and physical transformation of the
material substances.
D. Manufacturing is a value addition activity to the
raw material, substances or components.
E. Manufacturing is the process through which the
product are made through various production
activities.
SOME FACTSABOUTMANUFACTURING
Let us, first look at some historical facts about
manufacturing follows.
 Manufacturing activities are started during
4000 -5000BC it self.
 In this period , the manufacturing are mostly
wood works , metal works and stone works.
DEVELOPMENT OF MANUFACTURING
After the development of computer
many manufacturing machines and software are
developed ,
1. CNC MACHINES
2. GROUP TECHNOLOGY
3. ROBOTICS AND CONTROL
4. CAD/CAM ADAPTIVE CONTROL
Advanced manufacturing process
(including advanced casting , joining machining
and finishing methods).
ROBOTICS
AND
CONTROLS
ROBOTS
Mechanical device that performs human tasks,
either automatically or by remote control.
A reprogrammable multi functional manipulator
designed to move material, parts, tools or
specialized devices through various programmed
motions for the performance of a variety of
Tasks.
Study and application of robot technology is
called as the Robotics.
TIMELINEOFROBOTICS
LAWS OF ROBOTICS
FIRST LAW
“ A robot may not injure a human being, or
through inaction, allow a human being to come to
harm”.
SECOND LAW
“A robot must obey the orders given it by human
beings except where such orders would conflict with
first law”.
THIRD LAW
“ A robot must protect its own existence as long
as such protection does not conflict with first or
second law”.
TYPES OF ROBOTS
 Mobile robots
 Rolling Robots
 Walking Robots
 Stationary Robots
 Autonomous Robots
 Remote Control Robots
MOBILE ROBOTS
Mobile robots are able to move ,usually they
perform task such as areas. A prime example is
the Mars, Explorer.
Mobile robots are a great help to such
collapsed building for survivors.
USES:
It is used for task where people cannot go.
It is used to research institutions
It is used for Defence and Security systems
DEVELOPMENT OF MOBILE ROBOTS
BEFORE.....
 The humans are not quickly
perform the tasks.
 It is very long time used in
the tasks.
AFTER.....
 It is very fast and quickly to
the any tasks.
 I t is very short time used in the
tasks.
ROLLING ROBOTS
 Rolling robots have wheels to move around
and the type of robots that can quickly search
move around.
Flat terrains are their territory.
USES:
It is used for flat areas , rocky terrains.
It is most uses in the factories.
DEVELOPMENT OF ROLLING ROBOTS
BEFORE.....
 In this robot wheels are
move not quickly around .
 It is move slowly in the flat
areas.
AFTER.....
 In this robot wheels are move
quickly around .
 It is move fast in flat areas.
WALKING ROBOTS
 Robots on legs are usually brought in when
the terrain is rocky and difficult to enter with
wheels.
Robots have a hard time shifting balance and
keep them from tumbling.
USES:
It is used for military and defence.
It is used for dangerous environment.
DEVELOPMENT OF WALKING ROBOTS
BEFORE.....
 In this robots is not working
on the correctly and low
development.
 It most robots are not quickly
walk.
AFTER.....
 In this robots is working on
correctly and high technology.
 It is quickly walks.
STATIONARY ROBOTS
 Robots are not only used to explore areas or
imitate a human being.
Most robots perform repeating tasks without
ever moving an inch.
USES:
It is used for inspection and welding.
It is used for materials handling and laboratory
applications.
DEVELOPMENT OF STATIONARY ROBOTS
BEFORE.....
 In this robots tools or
engines not fixing in limited
time.
 The robots are using low
technology.
AFTER.....
 In this robots machines are
correctly fixed.
 Advanced technology is used.
AUTONOMOUS ROBOTS
 Autonomous robots are self supporting or in
other words self contained.
 A little while the robot adjust its program and
performs a pattern which enables it to move in
a direction.
USES:
It is used for gain information about the
environment.
It is used for unsupervised situations.
DEVELOPEMENT OF AUTONOMOUS ROBOTS
BEFORE.....
 It is very difficult to made on
the robots.
 It is very long time consumed
the robots.
AFTER.....
 It is easy to made on the
robots.
 It is short time used in the
robots.
REMOTE CONTROL ROBOTS
A person can guide a robot by remote control. A
person can perform difficult and usually
dangerous tasks without being at the spot where
the tasks are performed.
 An autonomous robot is despite its autonomous
not a very clever or intelligent unit.
USES:
It is used for very dangerous areas.
It is used for information technology.
DEVELOPMENTOF REMOTECONTROLROBOTS
