Editor's Notes
The future of education is based upon many different happenings. Convenience and technology are two intricate factors. This demonstration offers key considerations in anticipated changes, ways of funding learning in the community, the influences of diversity, creative thinking in the education field and technology. All of these dynamics influence how adults in the community become educated.
The key considerations and anticipated changes in community based learning are many. My thoughts are to build a comprehensive world through education. The advancements in andragogy provides more convenient ways to learn. The competency based education chart offers benefits of community based education. Although the motivations are different, the focus placed on pedagogy can be offered in andragogy. According to Marienau (2008) “When designing community based learning for adults, educators are also balancing multiple perspectives on teaching, such as their concern with transmission of knowledge along with the developmental value of experiential learning.” Pairing creative thinking along with the benefits of education will not only encourage community based learning, but will also allow new venues to improve what has already been produced.
Community based learnings is a part of education that is now increasing. It is imperative to find ways to continuously strengthen the community through education. Education is one of the foundations of our society. It takes profit to further advance education. Funding can be found in quite a few places. The government , state lotteries, personal and public donations, and non-profit agencies all are possible funding for education in the community. Hopefully society will collectively find ways to promote funding even if some of the sources listed will not become available for community based education.
Communities are often filled with many different races and population. Educating the municipal provides an opportunity for the members of this area to learn the ethics and diverse way of living of each unique culture. According to Rosner – Salazar (2003) “Multicultural service-learning promotes the strength and value of cultural diversity and focuses on equitable distribution of power among ethnic groups, as well as between those providing service and those served.” The influences of diversity through community based learning provides unity throughout the society and bridges cultural gaps.
Education is a necessary part of our existence. As times moves forward education, has advanced from the traditional classroom to the distance learning environment. A working adult now has the opportunity to further his or her education at almost anytime and chosen location. The only requirements are dedication, discipline and a great deal of hard work. Technology has enhanced learning and many of us often wonder what the new predicted changes will be. Facilitators must unceasingly educated themselves to stay abreast to educational changes and keep the students well informed. According to Smith (2006) “On the individual level, Continuing Professional Education is intended to maintain and enhance professional skills and knowledge used in practice.” It may be hard to identify all of the future inventions, but it is hopeful the forthcoming changes are those that enhance the way the world thinks and learns.
Communities are small divisions of the world. Advancing is possible on individual and mutual levels. Education is one our best options. Spreading knowledge throughout our populations increases opportunity and promotes success on a many different levels.
