Group Welding Specialist
Set-up of E36 Spot Welding Department in Plant2 and running all production functions.
Controlled a press line in conjunction with the welding project.
Set-up of all quality systems for spot welding at Plant 1 and 2.
Sent to Plant 5 in East London to set up spot weld machines and train staff.
The settings of jigs and welding sequences to ensure acceptable parts for MBSA.
I was responsible for the robotic settings and programming of the new BMW E46 Assembly Line at Plant 1.
This was a milestone due to the fact that the company gave me a choice to where I would like to work.
I was promoted to Group Leader / Weld Technician.
Training of all operators, line technicians and fitters for production.

In 2004I started as a Consultant on my own. Setting up RSW machines at I.G.Tooling and solving weld
problems. In October 2004, August Läpple required my services to solve welding problems on the E90 line and
assist in the set-up of E46 P & A lines at Plant 3. I was contracted as a Welding Engineer for Plant 1 and 3.
Again, I was involved in all process functions, training of production personnel, quality assistance and running of
these robotic lines.
I was appointed as Welding Technician for Plant 3 on 1 September 2005.
I ran production in the Export Department as the Group Leader with functions as the Welding/Sealer Technician.
Set-up the Ford Focus Door, Tailgate and Bonnet lines and train the Production people.
Relocate and install the new DCSA W203 Door and Tailgate line for worldwide P&A requirement.
2007 move to the Process Department, functioning as a Process Engineer and Welding/Sealer Technician doing
all functions including FMEA’s, Control Plans, and Process Sheets and line documentation.
As Process Engineer cost deployment and reduction of costs on low volume production lines were my aim.
April 2011 I was appointed as Production Manager of the T6 Ford line (New Ranger Bakkie).
This line is responsible for all structural assemblies for Ford SA and partly Ford Argentina.
The lines started as manual lines and by the end of 2011 90% was changed to automated lines.
Train Line Managers, Process Engineers, Maintenance personnel and operators in doing their duties.
These lines accommodate 135 operators on 3 shifts producing 600 cars daily.
Budgeting, maintenance expenses, controlling of headcount and general cost are my responsibility.
Cost calculations, line optimization and cycle time improvements are my forte.
Assisted on F30 BMW line in the set-up of adaptive welding with the servo pneumatic weld guns.
I was given the responsibility of Group Welding Engineer assisting all Plants and Departments.
My key functions are auditing the Welding Systems and Controls according to International Standards. (AIAG
CQI-15).
Serve as Senior Process Engineer for technical advice for all line movements and new developments.
Involved with all new technologies of weld processes servo-pneumatics, servo-electrics, laser welding, all
automated processes and line lay-out.
Part of the Project team with new GO1 BMW implementation for 2018.
