internals. A closely monitored system ensuring plant building and facilities are maintained in
good order in accordance to international manufacturing processing and packaging
standards (GMP).
3. Identifying energy saving initiatives and implementing effective systems to reduce energy
waste of water, gas and electricity.
4. Responsible for statutory inspections of pressurised vessels, pipe line integrity, lifting

Apprenticeship and electrical shift artisan - Hulett Aluminium Pietermaritzburg
Hulett Aluminium is a major processing plant of aluminium foil, rolling stock and extruded
products. I spent three month terms in each manufacturing section. Extrusion, foil mills, main
hot mills, foundries, anodizing and paint products. The company gave excellent grounding in
many electrical disciplines including AC/DC circuitry, design, reading schematics, wiring
principles, fault finding, maintenance and panel wiring.
I also studied for three months every year at the technical college and completed National levels
2/3 &4 higher class.
Awarded Apprentice of the year in 1986.
