Evacuation steps <ul><li>Leave your work station and proceed to the designated Muster/Assembly Point </li></ul><ul><li>Always use the exit stairwells in the building to evacuate </li></ul><ul><li>Employees WALK to the assigned place on the parking lot outside of Orient plaza building </li></ul><ul><li>Employees wait for the fire warden to provide further instructions </li></ul><ul><li>Advise your supervisor of your presence to enable to take a headcount of his/her staff </li></ul>

DON'TS <ul><li>Don’t use an elevator to evacuate the building! </li></ul><ul><li>Don’t assume someone else has reported the alarm! </li></ul><ul><li>Don’t start rumors! </li></ul><ul><li>Don’t congregate near the exit stairwell doors! </li></ul><ul><li>Don’t panic! </li></ul><ul><li>Don’t re-enter the building until instructed by the Fire Wardens! </li></ul><ul><li>Don’t try to use fire extinguisher if you are not trained to do so </li></ul>

DO’S <ul><li>Terminate all telephone conversation </li></ul><ul><li>Close all desk and file cabinet drawers, windows, doors behind you and leave the lights on </li></ul><ul><li>Take valuables and coats with you if they are within reach </li></ul><ul><li>Move to the emergency stairwells to evacuate- Walk! </li></ul><ul><li>Use exit stairwells on the left of the stairs </li></ul><ul><li>Be alert for further instructions </li></ul>

Housekeeping rules to prevent fire <ul><li>Discard unnecessary files, excess paper, and combustible materials </li></ul><ul><li>Keep halls clear of telephone and electrical wires that could interfere with timely and orderly evacuation </li></ul><ul><li>Avoid using extension cords </li></ul><ul><li>Stacked material in storage area is to be no closer than 46 cm from automatic sprinkler head deflectors </li></ul>
  6. 6. How to report fire or other emergency <ul><li>Your name </li></ul><ul><li>Most direct route to Orient Plaza </li></ul><ul><li>Building name and room number </li></ul><ul><li>Floor of emergency </li></ul><ul><li>Type of emergency </li></ul>
  7. 7. Fire Wardens Responsibility <ul><ul><li>Check that all employees are out of the office </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Check that all exits are clear </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Close doors. DO NOT LOCK! (Later entry may be required) </li></ul></ul>
  8. 8. Follow-up <ul><li>Designate fire wardens on each floor </li></ul><ul><li>Identify back-up person </li></ul><ul><li>Provide fire warden and master point info on the safety bulletin </li></ul><ul><li>Introduce safety check-up and Work Place Inspection </li></ul>

ACTIONS TO BE CONSIDERED ON DISCOVERING FIRE <ul><li>R - Rescue any person in immediate danger </li></ul><ul><li>A - Alarm i.e. raise alarm and follow your emergency procedures </li></ul><ul><li>C - Contain i.e. close doors to contain the fire </li></ul><ul><li>E - Extinguish i.e. attempt to extinguish the fire only if you are trained </li></ul>
