2. WHERE DID IT ORIGINATE FROM?
Action genre of films were first created in the early 1900s and became
more popular during the 1920s and 30s.
The first film that is meant o be classed as an actual action film is ‘The Great
Train Robbery’. This was created in 1903 and had a budget of $150.
It works very well in series of films, such as the Bond series. They have
been created since the 1960s and are still a firm favourite for action films.
3. ACTION IN THE 60S
The 1960s saw the first of the Bond series premiered, with the first actor
being Sean Connery doing 5 films. There have been lots of different
directors, all doing separate films and with them came different actors.
Some of the actors that followed Sean Connery were Roger Moore, Pierce
Brosnan and the current bond now, being Daniel Craig.
4. ACTION IN THE 00S
With CGI (Computer Generated Imagery) improving all the time, it means
that they are able to generate more intricate storylines and scenes. This
means that Sci-Fi films are able to travel further than they ever have
before.

The Critics Choice Movie Award for the Best Action movie is a specific
award given only to people working in the motion picture industry by the
Broadcast Film Critics Association at their annual Critics’ Choice Movie
Awards. It was first give out in 2008.
Some popular films that have been given the award are Inception (2010)
and Skyfall (2012)
