Assignment Purpose:
The aim of this assignment is to develop the skills and understanding needed for planning and designing and
training and development, through understanding how people learn and the suitability of different methods
and initiatives.

Scenario:
You have recently been promoted to Associate at a large HR Consulting Firm and have been given the
task to create a comprehensive HRD introduction analysis to a small sized family business that is about
to grow substantially in size and expand overseas in the following months. The HR department and
practices were for the time being taken care of an extended family member with little experience in HRD
which was not a substantial problem for the family business it was but given the expansion plans is
totally unprepared and needs a clear framework to be presented in order to put the foundations of an
HRD structure and strategy that is the norm for Medium to Large Size Companies.
Task:
As a human resource development consultant, you have been asked to produce a professional business
report to assess the current learning & development of the firm and recommended new policies and / or
strategies that may be beneficial for employee competencies.
Learners are expected to comply with the assessment criteria while drafting their report
While drafting the management report, four main issues should be highlighted:
1- Learning styles & methods
2- Learning curve
3- Training needs analysis
4- Training methods
Learners are expected to describe and evaluate the Training methods via different concepts and
techniques.
