2. What is Crime news?
• In ordinary language, a crime is an unlawful act
punishable by a state or other authority. The term
"crime" does not, in modern criminal law, have any
simple and universally accepted definition, though
statutory definitions have been provided for certain
purposes.
• One proposed definition is that a crime or offence (or
criminal offence) is an act harmful not only to some
individual but also to a community, society or the state
("a public wrong"). Such acts are forbidden and
punishable by law.

3. Positive side of crime news
• Public being aware about
the surroundings
• It can give overview of
people’s mind and their
ways of crimes
• Some hidden crimes
came out and people take
stand for each other ex.
Rape
• Because of crime news
the investigation system
being more transparent
etc..

4. Negative sides of Crime news
• One type of fear takes
place in people’s mind
• It also can help to
criminal that they get to
know about what was
happening on crime
scene and also how to
prevent mistakes next
time
• For publicity people fake
crime
• For TRP news channels
also can make rumors

5. Role of media
• Media should not bias
• Instead of bragging about politicians they
should show what is reality
• For TRP they should not promote fake news
• They should respect the privacy or
confidentiality of any investigation or case
• Should not interfere with army or security
issues
