Energy is the ability to do work or produce heat and comes in many forms. It is a conserved quantity that can change forms but not be created or destroyed. There are different types of energy resources like electrical, solar, nuclear, and thermal. Energy use is divided among residential, commercial, transportation, and industrial sectors. However, due to overuse, energy resources are decreasing which will lead to an energy crisis if not addressed. Pakistan already faces an energy crisis with issues like electricity and gas load shedding negatively impacting many aspects of life, slowing economic growth.
3. What is energy
Energy is the property that must be
transferred to an object in order to
perform work on, or to heat, the
object. Energy is a conserved
quantity; the law of conservation of
energy states that energy can be
converted in form, but not created or
destroyed.
4. Types of energy
There are different types of energy
• Electrical
• Solar
• Nuclear
• Thermal
• Hydral
• Wind
5. Energy uses
Use of energy is divided into four sectors
Residential
Commercial
Transportation
Industrial
6. Cont.
Due to its excessive use, the energy resources
are decreasing day by day in our Earth.
Due to lack of resources it is becoming difficult
to obtain energy enough to meet our energy
needs. The energy resources are decreasing day
by day at a very fast rate due to excessive use
and wastage of energy.
7. Energy crises
An energy crisis is any significant bottleneck in
the supply of energy resources to an economy.
Due to overuse of energy we are lacking energy
resources and this will lead to a great energy
loss one day and the world will face a great
energy crises one day.
There will be a lot for world to suffer.
8. Energy crises in Pakistan
Along with many countries Pakistan is also
facing energy crisis. This is due to over use of
energy and lack of equipments to extract the
energy resources that are in nature. Energy crisis
is slowing the pace of economic activity and
causing public unrest with prolonged outages of
electricity and gas.
9. Cont.
Due to lack of energy resources the people of
Pakistan are facing following problems.
Electricity Load Shedding
Gas Load Shedding
10. Electricity Load Shedding
In Pakistan the people are facing the problem of
load shedding throughout the country. Load
shedding is causing a great loss in our country.
The production of our mills, factories and small
scale industries suffer much due to load
shedding. Pakistan is an agricultural country.
Even agriculture is also affected with load
shedding because pumps can’t work to supply
water from the rivers, canals and ponds.
11. Cont.
Students suffer most as it disturbs their studies
especially during exam time. It is affecting the
exports of our country. It is affecting the health
of people, some of the people become choleric
due to load shedding.
12. Gas Load Shedding
In winter the load shedding of gas is a common
problem in Pakistan. Due to which people face a
lot of problems in winter season. It also affect
the transportation because of the shortage of
CNG. As CNG is a cheaper then other sources
like petrol and diesel etc. therefore people most
use CNG as fuel in their vehicles. In industries
the machinery used works on CNG and due to
load shedding of gas the industries are also
facing a lot of problems.
