The mobile industry has barely wrapped its head around last year's huge F8 announcement of Open Graph, and now we're staring down another conference set to change the mobile space.
From better developer tools, to smaller apps, to an Open Graph that includes EVERYTHING, we'll look at Mutual Mobile's predictions for this year's Facebook conference announcements and how they could affect major mobile services such as Netflix and Spotify.

3. Today, Open Graph is comprised of your social and “liked”
pages data, but it’s about to become much more broad.
The first sign was Places. No matter what service you checked
in from, you checked into the same unique place.
Every person has a Facebook identity. Now, so does every place.
4. Next, everything will have an identity.
Not just a band, but a song. Not just a TV show, but an episode.
This creates a detailed and unique graph of interests that
companies can tap.
6. For a company like Netflix, one of their most valuable
assets is the data on what films people have viewed and
enjoyed.
If they decide to tap this new interest graph, their data will
become even better...
7. ...but so will everyone else’s data.
The distinguishing factor between two companies will
no longer be their collections of data.
8. With the data playing field leveled, there will be 2
competitive advantages a company can have:
1.Great user experience
2. Clever data analysis
Even with the increased competition, Netflix will thrive in
this scenario because of the investment they’ve made in
making sense of data. The company’s algorithms, and
competitions like the Netflix Prize give them a unique
value proposition.
9. 3
The pain of switching services is going to disappear
10. Right now, if you use Spotify and your friend uses
Rdio, the two of you are on islands of interest
separated from one another.
Not only does this mean that you can’t engage with your
Rdio friend, you also feel married to your chosen service
because you’ve invested so much time in creating your
collection of songs and favorites.
11. With the interest graph, you can move to a new service
and it’s like you’re already at home. They know exactly
what you had on your last service, and can have it waiting
for you.
Keeping users is about to get a little tougher.
13. It’s been a year since open graph was announced, and many
developers still don’t fully understand it. Consequently, it
hasn’t been leveraged as much as expected.
This time around, Facebook has the chance to ease
adoption by releasing tools and SDKs to aid in the use of
open graph for mobile and web service.
14. 5
Facebook will stop being a swiss army knife and
become a series of sharp blades
15. The popularity of Facebook Messenger has shown that
sometimes we don’t want one app that does everything ok.
we want lots of apps that do one thing very well.
Independent developers are already creating these types of
apps, and Facebook will start doing it officially.
