‘Pediatrics’ Greek words:

Ics, branch of science (organized Knowledge)
Thus, pediatrics means the science of child care and scientific treatment of
child hood diseases.
Pediatrics nursing is the specialized area of nursing practice concerning
with the care of children during wellness and illness.
It includes preventive, promotive ,curative and rehabilitative care of children.

Child is a person aged below 18 years
The word child refers to all the various stages of growth and
development that a person goes through before attaining
adulthood.
The stages are divided into two groups; those before birth and
those after birth.
