As head of Sales and Technical development as Hostachem International I have been
entrusted with leading the organization on a new era of high growth and prosperity with
addition of new distribution agreements with several international companies to penetrate and
capture the market.
Market strategy and game plan is to strongly focus on customer needs by developing high
value partnerships with all the key market players. This entails working closely with key
customers and identifying new business opportunities, and developing and implementing
innovative industry game changing solutions to enable our customers to improve their
businesses so that they become market leaders in their respective fields in the shortest
possible time.
I believe in delivering the best performing technologies with “THE BEST IN CLASS VALUE
PROPOSITIONS” together with top-class on-ground technical customer support which the
customer can rely on.
As Global technical manager for Novozymes worked jointly with R&D and our exclusive global
sales partner for successful development, test marketing, and sales of state-of- the- art game
changing beam-house enzyme solution for the leather industry which significantly improves
the final leather quality, optimizes area yield, and reduces effluent discharge. The innovative
patented enzymes tremendous success since launch across regions is now considered by the
industry to be the leading solution for production of sustainable leathers for bovine hides.
Pioneered innovative application of lipases in the leather industry for both hides and skins for
radical quality improvements and optimization of area yields thus increasing lipase sales
exponentially over the last few years with sustained 15-20% year on year growth. Today
lipase sales is over 50-60 percent of total enzyme sales in certain markets speaks volumes
about how advanced degreasing technology can grow market segments while simultaneously
improving leather quality, area yields as well as effluent profile and simplifying production
processes to reduce processing costs. No wonder this win-win formula has had exceptional
success globally as it appeals to tanners worldwide.
Achieved outstanding sales growth in EMA as well as EEMEA region and technically supported
sales to key accounts globally as part of industry group management team. The success was
recognized by management for the best sales performance in 2006; 2007; 2008, 2010 as well
as 2014 increasing annual sales by a factor of 10 in less than 9 years. Increased penetration
of enzyme products from just one or two in 2005 to more than a dozen different varieties for
all types of process segments by identifying key opportunities within each region and finding
solutions that provided customers with solid value propositions in terms of quality of leather
achieved with significantly reduced process cost as well as improving leather process
efficiencies.

As technical director head of Hub Leather Products and Gazi Tanneries with a tannery
production team of over 100 -150 people was responsible for development of new articles for
some of the best known brand names in Europe. This included full tannery production and
personnel management, research and development of the latest most fashionable and
innovative leather articles from all types of raw materials (both local and imported) for the
most distinguished international designer houses such as Trussardi, Lamatta Max Mara,
Levi’s, Next, Redskin, Speedy etc., and full production control of all leather processing
steps from beam-house to finishing including quality control of all chemical and mechanical
processes, hides and skins grading and selection for articles, and cost control management.
In addition, I was technically responsible for production of specific leather articles at other
group tanneries i.e. at MIMA and Universal Leathers which are both renowned and well
established tanneries of the MIMA group. This included production of lamb, goat, cow and
buffalo leather articles in aniline, antique, water proof as well as nubuck leathers for some of
the most demanding customers in the world. Achieved outstanding success for tanneries as
the high quality innovative leather article product range and the capability to deliver
outstanding leather articles on a consistent and timely basis year after year increased by many
folds making us as one of the leading tannery groups in Pakistan.

Hub Leather (Pvt.) Ltd
Technical Director
As technical director for development of new leather articles from raw to finish, I led a team
of qualified and experienced team to deliver innovative fashion leathers in which a number of
new articles were developed and introduced to customers. The high quality leathers produced
were extremely valued by leading fashion brands internationally such as Gucci; Max Mara,
Next, Levi's, Lee, Redskin, Speedy etc. in Europe and the Far East. Developed technical
production capability for manufacturing all types of hides and skins such as bovine, buffalo,
lambskins and goatskins. Increased production capability to 5 million sqft annually from just
1 million sqft within a span of 6 years corresponding to a growth of over 500% in the said
period.
Responsible for full tannery management to lead 100+ employees to deliver outstanding
leather articles from all types of hides and skins. This entailed research and development of
complete process recipes for new and highly fashionable leather articles from beamhouse to
finishing including all wet and dry mechanical production processes to deliver leather articles
to meet and exceed the high standards of our international customers’ for aesthetics as well
as technical specifications. Also, responsible for achieving all production targets, management
of quality control at all steps of leather production including leather grading for specific end
articles, and cost control management for optimized final price of the end products.
4
Accomplishments:
 In the tannery introduced state-of-the-art technology for lambskin production from raw
to finish within a short period to deliver end leather articles of international standards.
The introduction of top class manufacturing technology brought about a dramat ic
increase in in the number of articles produced from just four in 1998 to over two dozen
high quality fashionable leather articles in 2002. This translates to an increase of the
number of articles the tannery was capable of producing of more than 6 times in a
period of 4 years only. This included an array of leather articles from ultrathin (0.4
mm) to thick (1.0-1.2mm), and a range of the most desirable aniline leathers compared
to the best in Europe such as: French Plonge’, Satin, Classic full aniline, and all type of
aniline antiques in a variety of fashionable colors. These leathers formed the backbone
of our sales to the most distinguished labels abroad.
 Researched and developed a range of high quality ultrathin aniline lambskins with
excellent tensile and tear strength and nubuck goatskins in a variety of the latest
fashion colors for the avant-garde Italian designer label Trussardi in the year 2004.
The leathers were selected and highly appreciated for its fine grain, excellent softness,
lightweight, and exceptionally natural touch and feel and became one of our successful
line of business for the lucrative Italian market.
 Researched and developed a range of outstanding fashion articles from cow hides for
the avant-garde Italian designer label Lamatta in 2003 for the first time at Hub. This
included extremely fancy antique nubuck, rub-off Napa, oily aniline Napa, and thin
greasy nubuck leathers to the full satisfaction of our prestigious designer client.
 In appreciation and recognition in the industry for producing top quality avant-garde
leather articles from all types of raw materials, I was invited to be one of the chief
guest speakers to a leather technology symposium held on “Types and Uses of
Fatliquors” which proved be a huge success based on the feedback of the organizers
and audience engagement.
 Within the tannery established a comprehensive quality control management and
monitoring system for each and every step of leather production. This included quality
inspection reports from raw hides and skins to wetblue, natural and dyed crust leathers
through to the final finished articles. Also, integrated chemical and physical testing to
exceed specific requirements of our customers. These measures ensured that we were
one of the select few companies from the region which had the capability to meet the
most demanding product specifications with a very high degree of accuracy and
consistency in our leather production.
 For the first time at Hub, researched and developed an exciting range of high quality
buffalo leather articles from raw hides to finish within a span of 6 months for some of
the up-market European labels. Excellent flat grain, deep inner softness and warm
natural feeling was widely appreciated by our prestigious customers and became one
of our bestselling leather product range making up to 50% of gross revenues.
 Increased sales to the UK retail chain outlet NEXT, by research and development of a
range of the latest fashion articles from just 100000 sqft of leather sold in the first year
of operation to more than 800000 sqft in three years’ time which corresponds to an
increase of more than 800% in this short time period. The number of articles developed
also increased exponentially from just one to more than a dozen different varieties
from lambskin, goatskin, cow and buffalo hides. The phenomenal sales growth recorded
5
speaks volumes of the high level of creativity, technology, and quality consistency of
the leathers produced.
