3. INTRODUCTION
• Wheat (Triticum aestivum) belongs to family Gramineae. In Pakistan wheat is called
gandum (Urdu), ghanum (phasto).
• Wheat is cultivated in more land than any other commercial food trade in the world.
• Wheat, based on production and area harvested, is ranks first among cereals around the
world.
• It also makes a greater contribution to people's supply of energy and protein than any
other crop.
• While the production of wheat has been growing considerably,
In Pakistan over the last few decades, food security for an ever-
greater population needs to be assured.
4. • Wheat is the world's leading grain crop produced as a (rabbi) crop, and in region
and production it surpasses all other crops.

14. Conclusion
Desirable minimum plant height was observed
for AUPG02.
Genotype AUPG07, followed by AUPG06 and
AUPG04 are out-yielded all other genotypes
due highest performances for grain yield.
Genotypes AUPG07 and AUPG04 had higher
1000-grain weight.
High heritability coupled with moderate to
high genetic advance was recorded for plant
height, grains spike-1, biological yield, and
grain yield.
