The document summarizes a field visit to observe poverty in Mahajar camp and Gojra. In Mahajar camp, the visitor observed small, poorly constructed homes housing large families of 10 members. Residents earned low incomes below the average from jobs like day labor or woodcutting. They lacked proper clothing and infrastructure. In Gojra, a slum area was visited where residents lived in tents with no sanitation and garbage nearby. Women worked as maids while children did not attend school due to lack of resources. Financial records were collected from households that showed low incomes could not cover expenditures. Skilled jobs among residents included stitching and labor.
3. On Wednesday we visited mahajar camp in ambore.it was established
1990s.it was made to accommodate migrants from jammu and Kashmir.
People are migrated from Kashmir. There are almost 35-40 houses. We
have observed that their houses are not in good conditions. The rooms are
very small and a large number of family member living in a small room
.they are almost 10members in each family.
They have a monthly income of about 8-10 thousand which is a small
amount. their is only a person who earns .mostly peole are labour ,
woodcutter etc. The income is below the average income. They don’t get
any allounce from the government .they get 50 rs each per day.
4. Their cloths are not good. They don’t have proper dress to wear.
Their children's are walking without shoe. The rain drops comes
into their houses. Too much cold is a big trouble for them.
After that we visited Gojra. there is a slum area. They live in tents
.the area is very dirty .people throw garbage their. They live near
garbage.no proper sanitation system. They have only one room for
the entire family. They don’t have any facility.
The women's work as a maid in others houses to fulfil their needs.
The don’t provide education to their children's because of lack of
resources. They lead a very poor life style. They are on absolute
poverty. The harsh weather condition effect them very badly. the
monthly income is below average.
