Specific duties and responsibilities as an Assistant Resident Engineer (Civil)
– 2009 - 2013
Power Substation:
o Assists with administering construction contracts by
monitoring/inspecting contractor’s work for compliance with plans,
specifications, and schedules, monitoring and coordinating the
collection of material samples for testing, coordinating construction
survey and electrical inspection, conducting and/or witnessing all
testing upon contract materials, equipment, installation, etc.,
establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all
parties, providing and maintaining construction photos.
o Assists with construction management activities by participating in
and conducting planning, preconstruction, coordination, progress,
scheduling, and field staff meetings, preparing project
documentation including inspector’s daily report, force account and
construction records, reviewing plans specifications and updating
logs in regard to RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings, and change
orders, making field measurements and maintaining as-built and red-
lined drawing records, reviewing and monitoring contractor’s
approved construction baseline schedule, preparing and initiating
field change notices, and ensuring all required tests, operations,
measurements, and inspections are scheduled, ordered, and
satisfactorily completed and documented.
o Assists in negotiating and preparing documentation for change order
or claims by reviewing and evaluating change order requestor
claims, preparing engineer’s estimate for change order, and
maintaining records on unit price quantities for material, labor, and
equipment.
o Supervision Work requires functioning as a lead worker performing
essentially the same work as those directed, and includes overseeing
work quality, training, instructing, and scheduling work.
o Perform Inspection and surveillances as directed by Resident
Engineer to ensure that worked is performed as required by the
project quality plan, codes, drawings, procedures and contract.
o Assure that all quality requirements and inspections are performed in
accordance with the approved project quality plan or Inspection Test
Plan.
o Ensure that the quality of work executed on site and fabrication plant
are within the required standard prescribed by the Contract and
Project Specification.
o Supervise the execution of works, carryout regular inspection of
works and the materials to comply with the construction contract
documents and requirements.
o Monitors and coordinates safety and quality control on projects by

ensuring project is constructed in accordance with applicable safety
regulations, reporting safety, traffic hazards and defective work to
the contractor for correction, and preparing and issuing appropriate
reports for compliance documentation.Cable Trench
Line/Underground Cable:
o Survey Work, Trial Pit on Soil Sample, Excavation, Shuttering of
Cable trenches as well as the preparation of the cable ducts &
supporting structures for the installation of the cable.
o Filling-in of fine granular sand of maximum thermal resistivity of
1.2 Km/W.
o Cable laying including bedding (both FTB & CBS ) in the ground or
laying in ducts, channels & indoor rooms, fastening on racks, cable
brackets.
o Construction of Joint Bay (JB), Manhole for Fiber Optic (FO), Link
Box (LB) & etc.
o Laying of Power cable, Pilot cable, Fiber Optic cable & sensor
cables all along the route.
o Laying of RCC tiles, Protection Net, Warning Tape & Cable trays
along the reinforced walls.
o Application of Fire Retardant Paint on all power cables in the
basement and sealing of all cable openings with fire retardant
materials.
o Construction of Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) Pipe.(micro
tunneling for HV cable)
o Cable pulling & Survey works such as marking the coordinates,
levels & etc.
o Resurfacing & layer by layer back filling of cable trench with
compacting of earth (sub-base) by compacting it fully.
o Construction or Reinstatement of cable ducts for road crossing.
o Filling of cable duct pipes for road crossing with BENTONITE.
o Back filling of cable trench, open cut road crossing (OCRC) with
compacting of earth (sub-base) and asphalting road by compacting it
fully.
o Reinstatement up to the desired level sub-base and asphalting at final
stage.
o Installation of Cable Route Marker and Warning Plates.
o Review “As-Built” drawings of cable routes.
Specific duties and responsibilities as a Civil/Site Inspector – 2009 to
2013
o Close Supervision of Site Testing on Fresh Concrete. Such as slump
test, initial and final setting time, air content, yield test, concrete
sampling preparation by cylinders or cubes mould (Cast in-situ
placing), checking the availabilities of equipment use in concrete
pouring, temperature of materials (cement, aggregates, and water) in
case of summer (hot) season concreting and moisture content of
materials (cement, sand and aggregates) in case of winter (coldest
season) rainy days.
o Supervises all works and day to day activities executed on site
maintaining a strict vigil to the quality of works, safety of workers,
conformances with the approved shop drawings, method statements,
quality control plan/procedure and specification, Preparation of
daily, weekly and monthly progress reports.
o Supervises and pushes on going heavy structural works such as huge
foundation works, columns, beam, heavy precast structures, huge
retaining walls, reinforcing, masonry works, marble and stone
cladding works, tile works, raise floor, ceiling works, painting,
decoration works, structural glazing works(curtain walls) and other
finishing works.
o Ensure that the construction is as per the specification and in a timely

manner to the required quality.
o Working closely with Resident Engineer/Project Manager.
o Perform quality assurance inspections to insure that contract
documents are followed; materials being used are approved and
assures that workmanship are of good quality.
o Stopping any work, which is not being done in accordance with the
specification, drawing and contractual obligation.
o Oversee uses and applications of required construction chemical
such as grouts, EP nito-bands, Epoxies, waterproofing chemicals,
concrete and mortar admixtures.
o Responsible for the day to day / night to night supervision and
inspection at site under the RE/PM to ensure that contractor works as
per specifications and requirements.
o Assist in material testing, implementation of quality control and in
charge in monitoring/preparation of progress report to overview the
development of the project for accomplishment record.
o In charge in coordinating contractors work to ensure that planning
schedule are followed and expedite the desirable completion of the
project.
o Checking all setting out, site levels, excavations and backfilling and
compaction works.
o Inspection of all scaffolding works and formworks prior to carrying
out any concrete works to ensure that finished concrete is to shapes
size and positions as shown in the drawings.
o Monitoring the contractor compliance with the approved safety
policy and regulations
o Performed administrative function and ensured safety and fire rules
and regulation properly implemented and followed.
Specific duties and responsibilities as a Plumbing Inspector - 2009 to
2013
o Supervise the Installation of plumbing works, includes Hot & cold
pipes, all fixtures and accessories, waste water line, Overhead tank,
booster pump, and manhole, painting type of pipes, valves, vessels ,
Irrigation, firewater lines, sewage and drainage networks and other
static requirements to ensure that such works are constructed to
applicable drawing, project specification, and latest standard code of
practice.
o Reviewed and verifies drafted detailed drawings of the piping layout
and other piping components ensuring that they are in accordance
with company specifications requirements and the applicable in the
local or international standard codes.
o Responsible of verification of detailed plumbing drawing thru the
latest AutoCAD Software and make sure that specification and
design is strictly followed in accordance with the requirement of
local or International standard and codes.
o Acting as MEP Engineer in their substitute for supervision of the
field inspection request and material inspection request, plumbing
works, Electrical works and HVAC works in the absence/vacation
Electro-Mechanical Engineers especially during rush and heavy

Responsibilities;
o Monitoring and Inspection work.
o Prepare report and recommendation based on inspection.
o Check and evaluate materials including installations.
o Evaluate shop drawings.
o Evaluate contractor’s billing
o Attend contractor’s coordination meeting
materials (cement, sand and aggregates) in case of winter (coldest
season) rainy days.

Responsibilities;
o Supervises construction of government projects such as but not limited
to bridges, roads, ports, public school buildings, public parks and
markets, irrigation dams, flood control facilities, potable water supply
system, drainage and sewerage system, etc.
o Supervision and inspection of the Project execution which included
surveying works, excavation works, backfilling, spreading, compaction
of sub grade and base course, laying of forms, installations reinforce
