Group participation in Kahoot quizzes will help to increase the
students vocabulary and understanding of historical
terminology.
Introduction to Lesson
I would use a rap video that educates people about the start of
World War I has actors pretending to be the major players in it.
I will follow it with the question, “What just happened, there?”
and let the students answer
Warm-Up or Bell Ringer:
Quote of the day from a significant or famous individual on th
classroom website
Before Strategy: Promote thinking beyond what is in the text
Purpose:
Promote learning beyond the classroom
Modification(s):
I will modify the lesson by having the students answer the
question on the classroom website before they come to class.

Differentiation
I will highlight context clues in the quote to encourage studen
to think about what those words mean so that they can
think more deeply about the quotes meaning
Body of Lesson
Students will research the causes and consequences of World
War I, includingimperialism,militarism,nationalism,and the
alliancesystem.
In their research they will
● describe the rise of Communism in Russia during
World War I
● describe military technology used during World War I
● identify problems created by the Treaty of Versailles of
1919
● identify alliances during World War I and boundary
changes after World War I
Afterward they will give a PowerPoint or Prezi presentation,
which will be uploaded to a group website that will need to be
finished by the end of the term
During Strategy:
The students will be placed in groups of four to do their researc
and delegate tasks.
Purpose: Promote teamwork and teach students how to use
technology as a research tool.
Accommodation(s): Lower,middle and higher performing
students will all be placed together because each student may
be able to contribute in a way that the others cannot
Modification(s): I will give individual grades as opposed to
group grades so that students will not have to worry about
receive unsatisfactory grades on the account of students who
have not put in the time and effort that the project requires
Differentiation:
I will switch students from one group to another, if problems
arisebetween collaborators

I will have those who understand how to use the technology
more quickly than their classmates to show the rest of the clas
how to use it.
Assessment/Evaluation
I will use a Kahoot interactive game to in which students will be
required a blended quiz which includes questions about the
technology that theyhave been using as well as the learning
content,
