Sourcing Manager
Supply Chain Management and Inventory Control
 Responsible for company global supply chain for up to 4 manufacturing locations
nationally. This included all purchases of Direct and Indirect materials and
purchases of sourced materials from Asian suppliers.
 Work closely with sales and production teams to ensure customer requirements are
met with both open orders and forecasted raw materials requirements.
o Using data from the MRP software create weekly and monthly work plans.
 Developed a continuous improvement program to monitor supplier performance.
Reduced non-conformance and late orders by 99% within the first 6 months.
o KPI’s included material OTD, rate of rejection and PPV.
 Implemented a cycle counting system of inventory eliminating plant down time
previously necessary to perform the physical inventory.
 Negotiated annual contracts with approved suppliers, distributors and sales reps
with a focus on continual price reductions.
 Continually research, locate and approve new suppliers to help drive down
material costs.
 Track copper changes on a daily basis and study copper futures. This lead to
making purchases of raw materials to coincide with lower copper pricing.
 Used JIT delivery on all raw materials to reduce inventory carrying costs and
increase inventory turnover rates.
 Worked directly with local freight carriers and international freight forwarders to
negotiate annual contracts.
 Managed the research and development of new systems technologies and
methodologies for logistics planning, forecasting and inventory control.
 Researched and implemented new technologies for more effective material
transactions, including bar-coded inventory tracking and RF data transfer.
Operations Management and Quality Control
 Responsible for all phases of preparation for company ISO 9001:2000 registration
audit. Creation and analysis of quality records as required by company’s Quality
Management System. Completed company registration on time and under budget.
 Performed on-site audits of supplier quality systems domestically and in China.
 Lead the continuous training of production personnel in quality procedures.
 Directed plant management and hourly workers to establish a lean production
environment starting with 5S and waste walks.
 Held weekly Lean training sessions with production personnel to educate on Lean
principles and create buy-in across the entire organization.
 Using data from the company MRP system, developed weekly and monthly
production schedules based on available labor and materials.
 Developed and implemented cost saving strategies companywide utilizing Lean
principles. These improvements reduced associated manufacturing costs by over
30% within the first year of implementation.
 Lead team to select company’s MRP system. System resulted in more efficient
inventory turnover and significantly reduced inventory-carrying costs.
 Researched and approved all manufacturing related equipment purchases.
 Developed preventive maintenance schedule for all plant equipment including
injection molders, termination presses and cable processing equipment.
 Purchased all MRO parts needed for Preventive Maintenance Program.
