4. To whom it may concern,
This letter is concerning the recommendation of Mike Pongrass as a crane technician. I have worked
with Mr. Pongrass on several projects with varying aspects of cranes from controls to mechanical and
structural. My major focus is electrical and the bulk of my experience with Mr. Pongrass is in this area. He has
done everything from apprentice type work up to supervising large scale projects that I have been associated
with. The last such project was the complete rewire of a large ladle crane. Mr. Pongrass supervised the day
shift turn of the rewire from start to finish including troubleshooting at the end of the job. This particular job
went very well and finished ahead of schedule. Mr. Pongrass was not afraid to ask questions when needed and
took charge of each situation that came to his attention. I have also been associated with his work on several
crane control upgrades which included rewire, conduit replacement, control panel installation, radio installation,
and magnet control installation.
Mr. Pongrass has done quality and efficient work on all of the jobs with which I have been
associated. He learns quickly and is willing and capable of taking charge of the situation when necessary. I
would recommend him for any position in which this type of work is required.
Cordially,
Paul A. Miller, P.E.

To whom it may concern:
I am an engineering project manager here at Simmers Crane. It is my responsibility to engineer,
schedule, order components and manage field projects. Mike Pongrass has been with us for nearly
three years. During this time Mike has worked on many of my projects. He has been an exceptional
employee during that time. There are two types of individuals that work for me. One’s that lead and
others that follow. Mike has been a good leader and good worker. I wish him only the best in his
endeavors.
Mike has exceptional qualities in AC electrics, DC electrics and mechanical problem solving. He
is a great troubleshooter and not afraid to ask questions when needed. He always gets the job done
right and in a timely fashion. He makes certain that solutions to problem are of sound engineering and
meet the required codes. He is a real go getter and would be a certain asset to your company.
We send mike out into the field to do a lot of electrical work for us. We try to make sure that
the engineering is complete ahead of time. In reality, the prints do not always match what is in the
field. Changes get made over the years that do not get documented. In Mike’s work for me he has
demonstrated the ability to focus through electrical problems and figure out solutions.
Mike has always gone that extra mile for me. He comes to me when he is uncertain about issues
and as a net result he makes good decisions. He comes highly recommended from me. If you have
any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely yours,
Walter R Jones
