UWM received high praise for hosting the 10th Democratic National Committee debate. Representatives from the DNC and media outlets commented that UWM's facilities, services, and IT network performed better than other venues, including ones supported by Google. UWM's IT infrastructure handled peak network loads with ease during the debate, maintaining under 5% capacity. The press room network performance was described as the best on any college campus. UWM was able to successfully host the large, secure event while maintaining critical campus systems without any issues. The Chancellor remarked that the commendations UWM received were remarkable.
