How can we improve?
There is always space for improvement, are you
constantly putting out fires and not yet found the
arsonist?
Where are our opportunities?
Opportunities have to be found, and sometimes
you have to dig deep as they are normaly in
places we least expect?
Can i wait?
What pecentage of your day is spent on
things that don’t matter, rather than things
that do matter and deliver results?
Thats right , this analogy is pertinent to driving
change, however before you can “ smash the door
down” on your C.I. challenges you need to;
● Know your environment.
● Develop your plan of entry.
● Resource the operation.
● Provide tools for he job.
● Place trained operators it strategic positions.
● Know your risks and plan for them.
● Develop a profile of the offender to understand
what you are dealing with.
● Trust your instincts.
● Dry run scenarios to be sure of your point of
entry.
● Then “smash the door down” and recover what
is yours.
This is one way to influence outcomes and deal
with operational improvements and change.
Can we face up to challenges within our
organisation or do we just live with them?
C.I. is necessary in any organisation and works
best when you have a clear plan and
improvement strategy.

● Set your C.I. goals and objectives.
● Determine how you intend to achieve them.
● Resource your work load.
● Drive results.
● Gain the prize.
Many companies have applied lean to their
operating structures leaving little or no time for
their teams to operate anything other than their
daily operations tasks. This inevitably leads to poor
C.I. Programs outputs . This is where we fit in and

Opportunities have to be found, and sometimes you have to dig deep as they are normaly in places we least expect? Can i wait? What pecentage of your day is spent on things that don’t matter, rather than things that do matter and deliver results? Thats right , this analogy is pertinent to driving change, however before you can “ smash the door down” on your C.I. challenges you need to; ● Know your environment. ● Develop your plan of entry. ● Resource the operation. ● Provide tools for he job. ● Place trained operators it strategic positions. ● Know your risks and plan for them. ● Develop a profile of the offender to understand what you are dealing with. ● Trust your instincts. ● Dry run scenarios to be sure of your point of entry. ● Then “smash the door down” and recover what is yours. This is one way to influence outcomes and deal with operational improvements and change. Can we face up to challenges within our organisation or do we just live with them? C.I. is necessary in any organisation and works best when you have a clear plan and improvement strategy. ● Plan your strategy ● Set your C.I. goals and objectives. ● Determine how you intend to achieve them. ● Resource your work load. ● Drive results. ● Gain the prize. Many companies have applied lean to their operating structures leaving little or no time for their teams to operate anything other than their daily operations tasks.
