2. CALL TO WORSHIP
L: Acts is a book of DISCOVERY;
P: Of love, of mission, of the Holy Spirit!
L: Let us DISCERN then what the Spirit wills.
P: That like the apostles we will be moved by
the Holy Spirit.
All: That we might DEPLOY the many gifts
that God has given.
3. This is the Day
This is the day, this is the day that the
Lord hat made, that the Lord hath
made. We will rejoice, we will rejoice
and be glad in it, and be glad in it..
4. This is the day that the Lord hat
made. We will rejoice and be glad
in it. This is the day, this is the day
that the Lord hath made
6. 1 Samuel 16: 12-13
12 So Jesse sent and brought him in. He was reddish
brown, had beautiful eyes, and was good-looking.
The LORD said, “That’s the one. Go anoint him.”
13 So Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him
right there in front of his brothers. The LORD’S spirit
came over David from that point forward. Then
Samuel left and went to Ramah.
9. DOXOLOGY
Praise God, from whom all
blessings flow; praise him, all
creatures here below; praise him
above ye heavenly host; praise
Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
Amen.
10. Sweet, Sweet Spirit
There’s a sweet, sweet Spirit in this
place, and I know that it’s the Spirit
of the LORD; there are sweet
expressions on each face, and I know
they feel the presence of the LORD.
11. Sweet Holy Spirit, sweet heavenly
Dove, stay right here with us, filling
us with your love; and for these
blessings we lift our hearts in
praise; without a doubt we’ll know
that we have been revived when
we shall leave this place.
12. PSALM 104: 1-4
1 Bless the LORD, O my soul! O LORD my God, you are
very great! You are clothed with honor and majesty
and,
2 and cover yourself with light as with a garment; you
have stretched out the heavens like a tent,
3 and have laid the beams of your chambers on the
waters; you make the clouds your chariot, and ride on
the wings of the wind;
4 you make the winds your messengers, fire and flame
your ministers.
13. PSALM 104: 5-9
5 You set the earth on its foundations so that it should
never be shaken.
6 You covered it with the deep as with a garment; the
waters stood above the mountains.
7 At your rebuke they fled; at the sound of your
thunder they took to flight.
8 They rose up to the mountains, ran down to the
valley’s to the place which you appointed for them.
9 You set a bound which they should not pass, so that
they might not again cover the earth.
14. PSALM 104: 10-13
10 You make springs gush forth in the valleys; they flow
between the hills;
11 they give drink to every beast of the field; the wild
donkeys quench their thirst.
12 Above the springs the birds of the air have their
nests; they sing among the branches.
13 From your lofty place you water the mountains; with
the fruit of your work the earth is satisfied.
16. Romans 8: 14-17
14All who are led by God’s Spirit are God’s sons and daughters.
15You didn’t receive a spirit of slavery to lead your back again
into fear, but you received a Spirit that shows you are adopted as
his children. With this Spirit, we cry “Abba, Father.”
16 The same Spirit agrees with our spirit, that we are God’s
children.
17 But if we are children, we are also heirs. We are God’s heirs and
fellow heirs with Christ, if we really suffer with him so that we can
also be glorified with him.
17. Acts 2:1-7
1 When Pentecost Day arrived, they were all together in one place.
2 Suddenly a sound from heaven like the howling of a fierce wind filled the
entire house where they were sitting.
3 They saw what seemed to be individual flames of fire alighting on each one
of them.
4 They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other
languages as the Spirit enabled them to speak.
5 There were pious Jews from every nation under heaven living in Jerusalem
6 When they heard this sound, a crowd gathered. They were mystified because
everyone heard them speaking in their native languages.
7 They were surprised and amazed, saying, “Look, aren’t all the people who
are speaking Galileans, every one of them?
18. Acts 2: 8-15
8 How then can each of us hear them speaking in our native language?
9 Parthians, Medes, and Elamites; as well as residents of Mesopotamia, Judea, and
Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,
10 Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the regions of Libya bordering Cyrene; and visitors
from Rome (both Jews and converts to Judaism),
11 Cretans and Arabs—we hear them declaring the mighty works of God in our own
languages!”
12 They were all surprised and bewildered. Some asked each other, “What does this
mean?”
13 Others jeered at them, saying, “They’re full of new wine!”
14 Peter stood with the other eleven apostles. He raised his voice and declared, “Judeans
and everyone living in Jerusalem! Know this! Listen carefully to my words!
15 These people aren’t drunk, as you suspect; after all, it’s only nine o’clock in the
morning!
20. Spirit of the Living God
Spirit of the living God, fall fresh on
me. Spirit of the Living God, fall
fresh on me. Melt me, mold me, fill
me, use me. Spirit of the living God
fall fresh on me.
