31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb,and bring forth a son, and shalt call his nameJesus.32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Sonof the Highest: and the Lord God shall give untohim the throne of his father David:33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob forever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall thisbe, seeing I know not a man?35 And the angel answered and said unto her, TheHoly Ghost shall come upon thee, and the powerof the Highest shall overshadow thee: thereforealso that holy thing which shall be born of theeshall be called the Son of God.

Luke 2:1-71 And it came to pass in those days, that there wentout a decree from Caesar Augustus that all theworld should be taxed.2 (And this taxing was first made when Cyreniuswas governor of Syria.)3 And all went to be taxed, every one into his owncity.4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of thecity of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city ofDavid, which is called Bethlehem; (because he wasof the house and lineage of David:)
5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife,being great with child.6 And so it was, that, while they were there, thedays were accomplished that she should bedelivered.7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, andwrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid himin a manger; because there was no room forthem in the inn.

13 And suddenly there was with the angel amultitude of the heavenly host praising God,and saying,14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earthpeace, good will toward men.15 And it came to pass, as the angels weregone away from them into heaven, theshepherds said one to another, Let us now goeven unto Bethlehem, and see this thing whichis come to pass, which the Lord hath madeknown unto us.16 And they came with haste, and foundMary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in amanger.

Prayer of DedicationO Holy Jesus, thou hast commanded us to let ourlight shine out in the world; but we have failed tobear witness to you, and seek those who are lost.
