Design a magazine cover that showcases a self-portrait as well as articles
about yourself.
1. After I had gathered all the necessary images, I begin by sketching possi-
ble layouts for the cover.
2. I then opened InDesign and work on a shape map according to one of
the sketches.
3. Once I was satisfied, I replaced the placeholders with the desired ele-
ments.
4. Finally, I saved the file and exported the image as a JPEG 150 ppi.

By using photography and design skills, create a project that encompasses a
consistent color scheme from the image.
1. I chose a color scheme based on the image that I wanted to use.
2. Then I begin to edit the photo. Using the vibrant and sharpness tool to
bring out the flower.
3. After I was satisfied, I created a new PS document and begin adding the
rest of the elements.
5. I added the bars towards the bottom keeping in mind the contrast that
would be needed for viewing. I then added the text and then aligned my
elements.

1. I begin my desin process by sketching out the layout as I already had a
quote and idea in mind.
3. I then combined my images by using various brushes and filters. Adjust-
ing opacity levels and brush settings in order to create a gradual blend.
4. Once satisfied, I added the text choosing contrasting font families.
5. Finally, saved the file and then save the image as a JPEG.

Code a custom webpage with HTML and CSS.
1. First I created my logo in Illustrator as well as my background.
2. I resized my logo to be about 400 px on the long side.
3. I then created my HTML file and started adding my content and tags.
4. I created my CSS file and made sure to link it in the HTML code.
5. I made customizations in my CSS to match the colors in my logo and
changed the fonts to what I preferred.
7. Finally, I made sure to validate my HTML and CSS.

Design a website homepage using a grid.
1. I first picked an idea of what I was going to use for the basis of my
website. I chose to do a web page for a web portfolio.
2. I then started sketching ideas of some layouts.
3. After deciding on one, I then jumped into Photoshop and opened the
16-column grid. I begin working on my wireframe.
4. Afterwards I begin to adding in the contents.
5. The end result ended up being a bit different from the wireframe.

Design a brochure for a company.
1. I first created the logo in Illustrator.
2. Then I went into InDesign and started to design my brochure beginning
with the wireframe. I wrote my body copy and added the body copy so I
knew how I want it to fit.
3. I saved the images as Photoshop documents so when I was in InDesign I
could edit the original and it would open in Photoshop. Then I could edit the
coloring, etc and it would automatically update the link in InDesign.
4. I then exported the brochure document as JPEGS.
