Maximising your Influence as a Leader by Refining your High Level Communication and Stakeholder Engagement Skills
As Project Manager, your ability to influence and engage a variety of internal and external stakeholders is vital to your effectiveness and the success of
your projects. Furthermore, as you move into senior leadership roles where the stakes are high, your capacity to communicate effectively becomes even
more important. Technical excellence is essential; you still have to deliver the ‘right outputs’ in the ‘right way’, but achieving this is helped enormously by
building and leading a motivated project team, and fostering strong relationships with key external stakeholders.
Exceptional communication is the cornerstone of effective project leadership and is a crucial skill to ensure the long-term profitability, sustainability,
productivity and quality service delivery of all organisations. Women often possess a natural ability to communicate so this innate strength should be
harnessed and employed at all stages of leadership to gain support, engage stakeholders and deliver successful projects.
This interactive workshop will provide a proven toolkit of communication and stakeholder engagement strategies, equipping female leaders with the skills
needed to build relationships and achieve success.
Developing a competitive edge in leadership through communication:
• Communicating with clarity and precision - Strategies and techniques
• Finding confidence and assertiveness in difficult conversations and situations
Stakeholder engagement skills for leaders:
• Developing perspective flexibility for managing a variety of conflicting stakeholder priorities
• Techniques for optimising stakeholder engagement
• Optimising your leadership by mastering exceptional communication and engagement skills
Leveraging your engagement for career success:
• Communicating your projects’ successes to senior management
• Reputation management with internal and external stakeholders

Management leadership roles in various industries and organisations.
However, Project Management remains a largely male-dominant
environment with many complex and dynamic challenges facing women
in their career progression. In particular, project leaders now need to
rapidly change from a technically-driven perspective to an emphasis on
developing people and culture. For female project leaders, this means
going beyond growing technical knowledge to harnessing strong
leadership capabilities in order to achieve project excellence.
The 4th Women in Project Management Leadership Summit 2016 is
designed to provide proven techniques and practical advice for women
advancing in Project Management leadership. Featuring a range of
seasoned female project leaders from across industries, delegates will
take away a roadmap for achieving project and career success.
