3. 4R
It is waste management strategies
1.Reduse
2.Reuse
3.Recycle
4.Recover
4. Applying 4R means questioning our daily
acts, the things we do mechanically, without
thinking of consequences without thinking of
the environment.
Applying the 4R means consuming
intelligently thus making substaintial
savings(in terms of money, time, pollution,
waste and energy)
5.
6. 1.If we avoid making garbage we need
not worry about disposing of waste.
2.Changing the habits of shopping ,
working and playing can reduce our
waste.
3.We should use paper bags instead of
polythene bags.
7. 4.Reducing and recycling can save
natural resources and reduce waste
management cost.
5.By designing manufacturing
,purchasing or using materials in
ways that generate less waste ,fewer
natural resources are used.
9. Reuse means thinking before deciding that
we are missing a product/object. the process
of reusing started with the assumption that
the used materials that flow through our lives
can be resource rather than refuse.
Don’t I have something similar that I forgot I
have.
Do I really need it.
Can a friend or someone in my family lend it
to me.
10. Containers can be reused at home or for
school projects.
Reuse wrapping paper plastic bags , boxes.
Buy beverages in returnable containers.
Try repair before you consider replacing tools ,
TVs etc.
Donate broken appliances to charity sheets .
Offer furniture and household items no longer
needed to people in need, friends or charity.
Old tires can be used in garden.
11. By recycling waste objects are brought back
in to a state of raw material . like waste paper
becomes pulp , plastics are melted and
molded in to new products and so on.
Collecting used bottels,cans and
newspapers and taking them to collection
facility.recycling of a material may produce a
fresh supply of same material.
Sometimes recycling is difficult or too
expensive
12. 1.Recycling reduces the consumption of fresh
raw materials.
2.It reduce energy usage.
3.It reduce air pollution.
4.It reduce water pollution.
5.It lowers greenhouse gas emissions
13. 1.The costs and energy used in collection and
transportation.
2.The jobs produced by the recycling industry
can be poor trade for the jobs lost in logging,
mining and other Industries.
3.Materials such as paper pulp can only be
recycled a few times before material
degradation prevents further recycling.
14. Recover is to convert waste in to resources
through thermal and biological means.
Resource recovery occurs after reduce , reuse
and recycle .
Recovery is when most of the mterial thrown
as garbage is used and processed in ways
other than being destroyed.
When it is not possible to reuse or recycle
objects such as mobile phones , computers,
televisions and other electronic gadgets,
recovery is the last option.
15. The waste is sent to scrap dealers can be a
source to recover gold and silver from the
contacts , copper from PCBs .all the metal
from castings, plugs, and sockets which can
all be reused.
16. Concerned with day today interaction with
surroundings.
It is interdisciplinary field.
It is concerned with the importance of wild
life its protection.
It explains the significant role of biodiversity
in establishing ecological balance.
It deals with different types of ecosystems ,
biotic and abiotic factors their role in
ecosystem
17. It is concerned with different types of food
chains food webs,productivity.
It explains the coexistence of both living and
non living organism and their contribution to
nature.
It gives information about water
conservation,watershed management and
importance of ware as universal solvent.
It explains importance of sustainable
development
