Clarins Grants the 17th
Femme Dynamisante
Award
By Meghan McCarty
PARIS — Groupe Clarins bestowed its 17th Femme
Dynamisante award upon Tina Kieffer, president and founder of
Toutes à l’école, an organization dedicated to schooling
impoverished Cambodian girls, on Monday night here.
The prize is granted annually to a woman who has made a
positive difference in the lives of children.
Years ago, during a trip to Cambodia, the former French Marie
Claire editor in chief noted an abundance of girls living on the
streets who were often forced into prostitution. Passionate about
building positive futures for children, especially girls, she
consequently founded the Happy Chandara School, which serves
hundreds of the poorest girls from the Phnom Penh region.
Kieffer was awarded 62,000 euros, or $78,498 at current
exchange. Also, the 16 former winners of the prize were each
granted 31,000 euros, or $39,266. For the awards, Clarins
employees raised 200,000 euros, or $253,200; e-tailer Vente-
Privee gave 50,000 euros, or $63,000, and Clarins Holding
provided the remainder.
Since its founding, the Femme Dynamisante prize has been given
to 75 women in 14 countries.
