Media short film.<br />5 Minute short film raising awareness for homeless children.<br />Brief synopsis<br />A montage of shots shows busy streets with children and teenagers huddled on street corners and in shop doorways. The first scene shows a teenage boy (17 years old) down an ally-way, his hands shaking and sweat dripping down his face; he puts his shaking hand in his pocket and pulls out a small bag of Crack Cocaine. Shot then cuts to another ally-way with a teenage girl (17 years old) sitting on the ground her hands are also shaking and she has tears running down her face, her heavy make-up smudged across her face. She reaches into a pocket and pulls out scrunched up £10 notes.<br /> A soundtrack starts to play over a split screen of the two scenes of the teenagers in ally-ways. The girl stands up and walks unsteadily towards the light at the end of the ally-way and the busy street, the boy also starts to exit the ally-way. The split screen continues as both characters walk down the busy street, looking expectantly at strangers for business (prostitution and drug-dealing). A group of guys come up to the girl and walk around her, mocking her and touching her. On the other scene with the teenage boy, a guy comes up to him and starts gripping him with his dirty hands begging for a fix for free. The scenes then both speed up as the soundtrack gets quicker and they come to different street. The split screen ends and one screen are presented. Both characters stand on the same street, waiting to cross a road, the girl turns to look at the guy, realising he doesn’t look like he has any money she smiles shyly at him and crosses the road. The guy watches her as she hurries across the road. He then walks the opposite way. The girl walks through some woods to get to a hostel she knows is nearby, as she runs through the woods she encounters a group of girls and guys that are drinking in the woods. They approach her and insult her, then beat her up. Bloodied and bruised the girl runs back the way she came. The teenage boy is huddled in a shop entrance and snorts a line of crack. The teenage girl runs past him, he sees her and gets up to go after her. She stops at an ally-way and sits there for a while, the guy comes running round the corner and a close-up of the girl shows the beating she received. The guy comes over and puts the blanket he was carrying around her shoulders. She looks up at him shocked and produces to him a card with the details of a hostel for abandoned children, and drops it on the floor.<br />Final shot shows the card sitting in a puddle.<br />
