Conceptual videos are very abstract and often relate to an
idea surrounding a mood or emotion rather than a story or
narrative. They can be either Symbolic or thematic

symbolic conceptual tend to utilize imagery and symbolic
references in order to create a mood or emotion, can
sometimes be contradictory

he entire video involves an animated version of the rapper Lil Uzi Vert, driving whilst
smoking a joint. The idea of this constant image relates to the theme of him being on
the “rolling road” that is life. The psychedelic background suggests that life is
currently messed up or disjointed. It could also suggest that his mental state is
currently disturbed. Relates to themes of drug abuse and suicide. The lyric “Xanny
make it go away” refers abuse of Xanax as a drug to numb “Pain”. “Might just blow
my brains out” relates to his contemplation of suicide.

so the weird and original editing style is
what makes it conceptual. It is a serial
experience for the audience as presumably
the large majority of people watching wont
have experienced it.
What the artist has said about this music video is that it
was edited so that the audience could get a feel for what
being on a hallucinate drug (LSD) would feel like It is
about his trip in Japan when he took it,
The vibrant lights and
colours really emphasis the
strange idea and works in
the favour of the artist
because its so abstract that
once you have watched this
video you will remember it.
