NextGen is a community of volunteers located in New York and Los Angeles dedicated to supporting The Trevor Project’s
mission to end suicide among LGBTQ youth by serving as an entry point for programmatic volunteers, spreading
awareness about The Trevor Project’s services, supporting leadership development and advocacy for the LGBTQ
community, encouraging lasting engagement with The Trevor Project by building fellowship and camaraderie amongst our
diverse group of volunteers, and fundraising to provide financial support for The Trevor Project’s life-affirming resources.
When The Trevor Project’s Board of Directors established the Trevor Ambassadors in 2009, they laid out a vision for key
volunteer groups that would help deliver Trevor’s life-saving, life-affirming message in regions beyond our bi-coastal
headquarters. Now, the Trevor Ambassadors have grown into a network of inspiring volunteers in major cities around
the country who help to expand our reach, raise awareness of our programs, raise life-saving funds, plan regional events,
and advocate for the young people we serve. Ambassadors are an integral part of our mission to prevent suicide among
lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) young people.
Trevor Ambassadors and NextGen
create a welcoming presence
for LGBTQ youth during local Pride
celebrations by recruiting volunteers for
tabling and parades.
Panel discussions, guest speaker
events, and community outreach
are just some of the ways Trevor
Ambassadors and NextGen make an
impact in their cities.
Events help support the life-saving
programs offered by The Trevor Project.
They’re a great way to engage individual,
corporate, and community supporters
who may want to make a difference in a
young person’s future!
Local advocacy that works to
support LGBTQ young people can
be lifechanging. Ambassadors and
NextGen members are encouraged to
collaborate with suicide prevention
partners nationwide.

When The Trevor Project’s Board of Directors established the Trevor Ambassadors in 2009, they laid out a vision for key volunteer groups that would help deliver Trevor’s life-saving, life-affirming message in regions beyond our bi-coastal headquarters. Now, the Trevor Ambassadors have grown into a network of inspiring volunteers in major cities around the country who help to expand our reach, raise awareness of our programs, raise life-saving funds, plan regional events, and advocate for the young people we serve. Ambassadors are an integral part of our mission to prevent suicide among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) young people. Trevor Ambassadors and NextGen create a welcoming presence for LGBTQ youth during local Pride celebrations by recruiting volunteers for tabling and parades. Panel discussions, guest speaker events, and community outreach are just some of the ways Trevor Ambassadors and NextGen make an impact in their cities. Events help support the life-saving programs offered by The Trevor Project. They’re a great way to engage individual, corporate, and community supporters who may want to make a difference in a young person’s future! Local advocacy that works to support LGBTQ young people can be lifechanging. Ambassadors and NextGen members are encouraged to collaborate with suicide prevention partners nationwide.
