Project Engineer – Network Implementation Team – Open Systems International, Medina MN May 2014 – Present
Design, document and implement a unique network and server/workstation backbone for each customer project
With use of automation and manual deployments, build Redhat / Windows Servers, Windows 7 Workstations to customer’s
requirements
o Custom OS Hardening scripts to lockdown any and all services not in use
Implement network on L2/L3 Cisco 2960’s, 3560’s, harden network with Cisco ASA 5525’s, 5505’s
o Add ACL’s to firewalls further defining LAN traffic across network, assign ports on switches to correct VLANs
o Network may consist of between 5 and 50 servers/workstations
Work with 3rd Party Vendors (Symantec, Tripwire, Trendmicro) to install/configure Antivirus and Backup software on a per
contract basis
o Worked with Symantec NetBackup Support Engineers extensively for 4 months to troubleshoot Bare Metal Restore
failures seen on a system
Worked directly with Symantec Engineers, found root issue that was causing the problem, continued to
work with Symantec to test possible fixes, a patch was released to their software after issue was resolved
