1. Netflix
Netflix is an American provider of on-demand Internet streaming media available to viewers in North
and South America, the Caribbean, and parts of Europe including Denmark, Finland, Ireland, the
Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. Netflix partners with content providers to
license streaming rights for a variety of movies and TV shows.They buy the rights to broadcast to the
shows/movies they intend to stream from the studios.The company was established in 1997 and is
headquartered in Los Gatos, California. It started its subscription-based digital distribution service in
1999, and by 2009 it was offering a collection of 100,000 titles on DVD and had surpassed 10 million
subscribers worldwide.
I have recently joined the marketing team for the company to help produce a radio advert for
Netflix. On this job I will show my knowledge and skills to show the company what my potential is in
radio advertising. In terms of budget I have none instead they have given me this trial to produce a
radio advert where they then decide if the client should fund me to produce more radio adverts in
the near future.
They style of the radio advert will be entertaining and factual. The target is to get the listeners
educated about what Netflix is all about. Along with that, it will also be entertaining. I will include a
lot of voiceovers which will help with the delivery of the advert. My main target is to get it stuck on
listener’s minds. I will have two people engaged in a conversation, where then the person asks what
Netflix is, from there I will have a lot of voice overs and they will be saying “what’s Netflix?” from
there one with a persuasive voice will describe what Netflix is.
In terms of target audience, it is targeted at all ages. Netflix is a streaming company that streams
classic and modern movies and TV shows. They have currently over 1,500 movies and over 700
shows. So in terms of age range it’s not really narrowed down to a certain age group. With Netflix
being an internet streaming company the main target audience are internet users.
Netflix has the most popular movies and TV shows than any other streaming websites. I think this is
their unique selling point.
