TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
The purpose of this letter is to provide a reference for Matt Mickelson, whom I have
known for the past sixteen years. I am pleased to provide this reference on his behalf.
Matt served as an associate pastor at the local church where my family and I attended. At
that church, I served as the chairman of the board of deacons, and I always looked to
Matt as a partner in ministry and in service to others in our local church community.
In late 2015, Matt and his wife made a difficult decision to move to Boise, Idaho where
she had a wonderful opportunity to accept a promotion in her career and where he could
explore other opportunities after his long tenure here as an outstanding associate pastor.
They made the move in the summer of 2016.
It has been my privilege to work side-by-side with Matt. When our senior pastor died in
January 2016, Pastor Matt essentially became our interim senior pastor and consulted in
such a value-added way with me and the other deacons who were now serving as the
senior pastor search committee. He continuously provided wise guidance to the deacons
throughout the search process, which ultimately led to us finding our next senior pastor.
He was so well-respected by all of the church members.
Matt Mickelson is very capable, talented, and committed to doing everything well. He
was always held in very high regard by the two senior pastors whom he served with at
our local church, as well as the deacons who served there in a volunteer capacity. He is a
man of integrity, he is very disciplined and organized in all that he does, and he has a
genuine caring concern for people and in accomplishing multiple tasks and projects that
benefit people and organizations. He continually encouraged me and supported me.
Matt exhibits passion in all that he does with an enthusiastic and positive attitude. He has
a very strong work ethic and a commitment to continuous learning. With the highest
level of confidence, I recommend him to anyone who is considering him for an
employment opportunity.
Please contact me if I can provide any additional information about Matt.
Sincerely,
David Dietz
