My wife and I came to salvation in the Lord Jesus at different times in our lives, my wife while she was
young and 4 years ago for myself. I am very blessed to have a godly wife who wants to raise our children
in a godly way. I look forward to our journey together no matter where it takes us.
PersonalStatement:
At the end of the day my goal is to love as Christ loved (Matt 22:37). From there my priorities are to my
wife (Eph. 5:25) and children. I believe God has called me to be a minister of His Word and to serve his
church in a full-time vocational ministry (1 Tim. 3:1). I also believe the enormous and grateful
responsibility it is (2 Tim. 4:3) to lead and care for God’s people. With constant learning and teaching, it
is my charge to serve God through His guidance (2 Tim. 3:16)
Therefore,it is my desire to help the church concentrate in the deep belief and confidence that God’s
Word is sufficient and relevant for our problems today, which, range from marriage and parenting, to
working and leisure. As a result, I look forward to teaching and counseling from the whole counsel of
God’s Word in helping Christ’s church accomplish the mission of winning people to Jesus and making
disciples (Matt. 28:19-29).

Ministry Experience:
Agape Christian Church
A large portion of my ministry has been leading and contributing in my home church, Agape Christian
Church which is located in La Porte,IN. This has included leading our family and adult Bibles studies,
prayer meetings, communion meditations, serving on committees as well a guest during Elder meetings. I
2. also have had opportunities to do sermons for both our Saturday night and Sunday morning services. I
have been fortunate to serve the church under the guidance and direction of our Senior Minister, Dr. Rod
Nielsen.
Community Outreach
I work two to three nights a week at the YMCA in La Porte, IN as a building supervisor. This has
allowed me to interact among the youth within the community as well as people from many different
cultural backgrounds who use the basketball courts, meeting rooms, and fitness center. I have had the
opportunity to volunteer to coach youth basketball and soccer. Not only serving the members but
working with the staff, has allowed me to cultivate an atmosphere of Christian values. I have grown and
been challenged in how to communicate in a way that is most loving and caring when people have
complaints, when people are hurting, or when people just want someone to talk to. Also by the grace of
God I have had the opportunity to share the gospel, pray and encourage community members and guests
with the hope of Jesus Christ!
Teaching
I have had the opportunity to lead and teach a small group within my church. The group consists of
mostly married individuals with or without children. We cover subjects ranging from marriage to
balancing life’s demands to books of the Bible.
This experience only confirmed more and more how much I love to teach God’s Word. My desire to
teach is strong and I am so thankful for the training and opportunities that my church has provided for me.
Ministry Philosophy:
Conversion and Call to Ministry
I was saved during my time in the U.S. Navy. The Navy teaches to rely on your shipmates and that they
can rely on you as well. During this time I also realized that I needed to rely on something much more to
be the man I wanted to be and that my wife and children deserved. Christ became by beacon, my will and
I took Him as my personal Lord and savior on August 26, 2012. Since then my eyes have opened to what
God wants and hopes for His children. He has led me to my purpose in life to serve Him and to serve
God’s people.
The first time I considered the possibility of being a pastor was during the winter of 2015. I repeatedly
fought with God, yes fought with him for months because I could not understand why He would lead me
down this path. For you see,I never saw myself as a Pastor. Never saw myself getting in front on people
and giving sermons. Never saw myself as one who could lead but it is not what I saw in myself but what
He saw in me (Isaiah 55:9) and with His help (Heb. 13:21) I can be confident that ministry is my purpose.
I consulted my most trusted earthy advisor, my wife. She too felt that this was my calling and would
support me through my journey. From there I consulted with both my associate and senior pastors
concerning my pending decision. With full support and guidance from these caring individuals I enrolled
in Grace College and Seminary in Winona Lake, IN. to pursue my Masters in Ministry.
Core Values:
Prayer:
As humans it is in our sinful nature to be selfish and hardheaded. This includes the most devote of
believers to the newly baptized. As a result we are not always with the Father but our Father is always
with us. Through the power of prayer we can not only talk to God but most importantly listen to Him. A
person may not always be able to attend church, or read scripture, or be with other believers, but a person
3. can always have opportunities to pray. Prayer I believe, is an often underutilized tool in our relationship
with God (Mark 11:24).
Family:
Everyone has a family. This can be traditional, or non-traditional, small or large, close knit or distant. It
is through this structure that God can effectively build His kingdom and that the Devil can destroy it. I
believe that the eroding of the family structure is a major reason of today’s moral issues. Our ideals and
values are often a reflection of our society and culture. The secular world has immense power to pull our
priorities one way or the other. Whoever one calls their family it is through this structure that should
shape our future generations (Mark 10:14-15) not what is popular or accepted in the secular world. Just
as much it is crucial to feed our adult congregations (1 Cor. 3:2) is just as important if not more, to
efficiently feed our children’s and youth ministries in the Word.
Service:
If I am certain of anything in this life, it is my mission to serve God (Luke 4:8) and His people. This may
be in full time ministry or any other direction that God may lead me. Our goal during our spiritual
journey is to be more Christ-like. By following Jesus’ example I charge myself to help others as he
helped, to serve as he served, and to love as he loved (Gal. 2:20). My philosophy is to show others not
only how God can help them but how they can help others in return. It is through this constant never
ending chain of serving that we can hope to battle the challenges of an evil world.
