2. Work to make the future bright
There is no shortcut to bright future. To make it in life, one must be very hardworking and focused.
Once upon a time a woman gave birth to two children called Ayo and Daniel. The children grew up to a certain
age and lost their father through an accident. After the death of their father, the family members took all the
wealth of their late father away and they started living in poverty.
One fateful day, Ayo got fed up of living in poverty, that he started thinking he wanted to see what his future
will look like. He wanted to know if he would continue with the life of poverty or become a very rich and
successful person. The next day he called his brother that he wanted to see him in the sitting room when their
mother goes out. After some time, the mother went out of the house to sell yam and oil. Ayo called Daniel to the
sitting room, he then told Daniel that he is fed up of the life he was living, and that he wanted to know if he will
continue to live in poverty until he dies or otherwise. Then, Daniel replied him, that how is it possible to see
someone’s future or destiny. A strange smile was made by Ayo, and he said that he already knew someone.
The following week, they went to a very powerful traditionalist that could see the future of people who come to
him. When they got there, Ayo got what he wanted. Ayo was told that he would be rich and he would be the
king of the town, but Daniel will continue with his normal lifestyle of poverty. Ayo was happy but Daniel wasn't.
So, they both left the traditionalist house. Ayo started following bad gangs, while Daniel ran into the bush and
started planting crops. He was also rearing animals to make ends meet. After some years, there was famine in
the land that the king died of lack of food. Ayo was still waiting for his prophesy to come true while Daniel was
busy planting crops and rearing animals.
One day, some hunters went to the forest to look for animals for the villagers to eat. All of a sudden, they saw a
very big farm filled with different types of crops and animals. Then, they saw someone eating fruits and enjoying
himself. They asked him a question “who has this big farmland”? He answered; I am the one. They told him that if
he gives them the farm, they will give him a lot of money, but he replied that he didn’t want their money. They
pleaded with him for so long before he eventually said he would give them his farmland and livestock if they can
make him the king of the town. They agreed with him and took him to the elders who also gave their consent and
he was crowned the king of the town.
Daniel became a famous and rich king while Ayo continued following bad gang expecting that he would become
rich and be crowned as a king someday. Ayo later realized that Daniel was crowned a king instead of him because
Daniel was hardworking. Ayo eventually died a wretched man.
