How do we find the absolute value of a number?
Study the following examples:

6. If n is any number, we write the absolute value of
|n|. We read this as “the absolute value as n”.
7. Let’s Remember
• The absolute value of a number is the distance of the number
from zero on the number line.
• Thus, the absolute value of a number n is always greater than
or equal to zero. In symbols, |n| ≥ 0.
