M&E PROJECT MANAGER
General Experience
Martin undertook an Electrical Apprenticeship in Manchester in 1976, completing
it with William Steward in 1980. He spent 5 years with William Steward as an
Electrician before moving to How Engineering in 1996.
In 1990, Martin joined NG Bailey at Reading as a Chargehand and worked on
various M+E installation projects across the south, before transferring in 1993 to
their Birmingham offices as a Senior Foreman.
Whilst in Birmingham, Martin was involved in various projects including the
installation of M+E Services for a new office complex in Northampton. In 1996,
now as Senior Foreman/Assistant Engineer, he supervised the M&E installation
for the new Alliance & Leicester Headquarters.
In 1997, Martin was the Site Engineer for the D&B installation of the M&E
services for a new factory in Rugby and in 1998 he delivered the M&E services
for an office development in Solihull. In 1999, Martin now a PE1 Senior
Engineer, moved to Banbury to deliver the electrical and integrated safety
systems for a major new Shopping Centre with integral Multi-storey Car Park.
He then returned to the Midlands to complete a further stage of the Trinity Park
Development in Solihull.
Martin transferred to the NGB Rail Division in May 2004 as Project Manager for
the M&E and Communications installations for Manor House LUL Station(Client
Morgan Est), and then went on to deliver the £1.7m Arsenal LUL Station
Upgrade(Client Tubelines). In 2007 he managed a Dilapidation and Asset
Survey Programme involving some 177 stations across Network Rail’s South
East Area. In 2008, he managed the acclaimed £2.5m Ticket Gating Project at
London Waterloo Station, the largest project of its kind in Europe.(Client J

From 2010-2012, as Senior Project Manager at London King’s Cross Station,
Martin delivered the £4.5m Shed Roof Refurbishment and Mid Platform Bridge
Projects for both Kier Construction and Taylor Woodrow/Vinci.
During 2013, Martin completed the £6.5m New Lifting & Maintenance Facility at
London Neasden Depot including all Assurance Deliverables associated with
LU–MAID and has recently completed managing additional works direct to
London Underground in a PC Role at Neasden.(Client BamNuttall-LUL)
During 2014, Martin moved onto the Multi Million London Bridge Station
Redevelopment Project managing Stage 1-1a Assurance Deliverables and
processes associated with achieving ‘Entry into Service’ of various MEP,
COMMS and Fire Systems
Martin recently completed a vital role at TCRSU (Tottenham Court Road)
managing all NGB Handover Assurance Documentation to support the Joint
Venture TW-BN to achieve Phase 1 Opening 11.01.15.
In Feb 2015 I moved onto the £13M Old Oak Common Depot Project in a
Senior Project Manager Role for ultimate clients Bombardier & Crossrail due to
open in 2018.
Late Sept 2015, I decided to leave NG Bailey to seek new challenges, which led
to me joining Briggs & Forrester Group early October to work as Project
Manager on the £13M Abell & Clelland Residential Development of ‘High End’
Apartments and Penthouses located in Westminster.(Client Berkeley)
