STRENGHTHS
From doing GCSE and AS Media Studies we all have previous experience
with creating a film and working within a group which will ensure that our
production is successful
Our main protagonist portrayed by Phoebe Francis has had previous
experience with acting and has an interest in it which will result in a higher
quality production
As a group we have a good communication between each other. By having
good relationships with each group member it will ensure each stage of the
production process runs smoothly and efficiently
The target audience for our film is males and females aged 15-35. By
having a wide target audience this allows us to appeal to a mass amount of
people especially teenagers as our film is based around the life of one
Our film demonstrates elements of the generic conventions of a drama film
and follows a clear narrative. This will make it easy for audience members
to follow furthermore reinforcing its success
By having one main actress this is highly beneficial for during the production
stage as we will have to rely on less people and they’ll be more likely to be
available. This will allow us to complete filming faster as well as have extra
time to re-film any parts if desired
The majority of our film is set indoors which is beneficial as footage is more
likely to be clear, weather conditions won’t need to be taken into account,
and it allows the cinematographer to have more creative freedom
From doing Music BTEC level 3 I have gained a vast knowledge on sound
production and sonic components. This is beneficial as I bring specialist
knowledge to the group which will aid me when inputting sound into the film

WEAKNESSES
As our film demonstrates mental health issues (depression) and deals with
self harm it is important to take our audience into account as some viewers
may be sensitive to these issues
Due to it being winter it gets darker quicker during the day making harder to
film outside during the week without footage being dark and grainy
hindering the ability of the cinematographer
As each group member has other subject commitments it is harder to find
time to meet up during the day so we’d have to ensure we have good time
management
I am the editor for the group, but as I have never used editing software,
using Final Cut Pro X may be challenging without practice or looking at
YouTube tutorials
Sound quality may not be good if not recorded properly and with the right
equipment. This will result in dialogue needing to be dubbed over in post
production
If any group members are absent for meeting this can decrease productivity
therefore we would have to stay in close contact by other means. This can
be done using apps such as Whatsapp and Skype
OPPORTUNINTIES
The editing software we use is Final Cut Pro X which is available of Apple
computers. By having access to this high quality software this won’t limit our
creative freedom when cutting the video together
We also have access to multiple other forms of software which can be used
to complete paperwork set such Word and Powerpoint (other forms of
software stated in equipment list)
From having links to the music department we are able to utilise the studio
to our advantage to ensure the voiceovers are of a good quality

We can gain input from the media teacher and technician if needed during
the filming and editing stages
By generating a following on platforms such as Facebook and Twitter this
will ensure that our film meets the needs of our target audience as we will
be able to interact with them through these forms of social media
As our film conforms to the generic conventions of the drama genre this will
be beneficial as it will appeal more to our target audience. As well as this,
they will be drawn to it through forms of marketing and publicity material
such as posters
THREATS
If equipment such as batteries or the camera settings aren’t checked prior
to recording this could result in unusable footage or having shorter time to
film
Possible lighting issues doing inside scenes or filming outside meaning
footage would be grainy. By taking a light during filming this can resolve this
issue
Other students would be booking out equipment so it may not be available
when needed so it’s important to book in advance (few days prior) to
guarantee our chances of getting equipment
Poor time management will affect deadlines therefore by having weekly
meetings this will ensure that we keep on track with paperwork as well as
the completion of the film to meet deadlines
Raw files of footage could become corrupt at anytime meaning it would
have to be backed up on separate devices to prevent it hindering the
production
Actress may be uncooperative when filming certain scenes due to the
nature of the topics which will be problematic regarding the completion of
our film
